Karma Hack v2.0 RFC
 

We will be free again to work on the karma hack v2 in 2 weeks time, so I would like to have more ideas on how to make karma v2 to be the best ever hack.

Karma v2 new features.

• Store Addon
• Adcycle Addon (Banner advertisement)
• Loyalty Addon
• Time limit karma
• RPG style karma in postbit
• Search

very nice add-ons . i can't wait for v2. Hmm what does the RPG style look like ? like that HP/MP/EXP thingy ?

when do you expect it to be out and do ya need beta testers?, i run a rpg like forum, and was ganna install the yet anthor stats hack but i help off on it cause i dident think members had to "earn" the points, how will it work under your system?

We have not started anything yet but it's on the drawing board. I will assume it takes about 3 weeks complete the beta version. If you are interested in becoming our beta tester that would be great. :)

I'm just looking around at the various hack options so I'll probably wait for this one to be released before deciding :)

certify, i'd like to add karma NOT FOR POSTS, just to users!

I am currently running 2.2.2 and will be upgradin to 2.2.6 of vBulletin soon. Should I apply the hack after upgrading vBulletin? What is the process for this with vB upgrades?

Also, If I installed v1.30a of the Karma Hack now, is that going to have an easy upgrade to 2.0?

To be the best ever hack there should definitely be a better documentation of the whole hack and a "what to chance" text file instead of just a install script. With just a install script and a short readme text file it's very hard to check, after installing the hack, what the hack has chanced in the *.php files without running the install script again.

And if possible at all make the hack less complicated or make a light version for the people who are not already PHP gods.
