QuickClose (threads)
This was requested by TaP here.
QuickClose This hack places a small link next to each thread title for admins, supermods, and mods to close that thread. Current Version: 3.1
Previous Version: 3.0
Previous Version: 2.0
No screenshot...it's just a link that says [close]. |
Nice, small hack - I'm thinking of using adaptations of this in my gallery, where links for editing and closing threads can look messy because of the simplified layout.
Nice. Be sure to note that those usergroup ID's are the default ones ;).
very nice man! thanks you very much for helping out! is there any way to make it only show up in certain forums?
You might want to add a check for ismoderator($forumid) to avoid showing the link to all moderators.
thanks for the suggestions sparkz & TaP - i will add these to the file
added :)
Great hack! thanks!
One little request... :) Is there a way to have the word "close" change to "open" after you have closed the thread so you can open it up quickly too? (if someone wants to do that) That way we could tell at a quick glance from the listing whether it is open or not and open it up the same way. I hope I explained it better than I think I did. :-) |
okay, feature added :)
Thnk you very much! A great addition to a geat hack! ;)
thanks :D
I'm getting an error now when I click on the close OR open link. It says the following:
The action you have attempted could not be performed as your session appears to be invalid. Click the below link to attempt this action again with a new session. Try this action again! When I click on try this action again, then it goes through fine. Any idea what it might be? |
that happens to me to, but i'm not sure...:/
i bet firefly knows |
It worked fine before the open was added. Could it been somewhere in there? I have faith in you. You'll get it. :D
hmmmm...that helps. i'll take another look.
unfortunately, i'm still mystified as to why this is occurring
Have you checked with Firefly to see if he can figure it out? It seems like it isn't taking the first sessionhash but does fine on a re-try. It has to be in the code you added but I am too new at this to figure this one out yet. :(
I think I may know the problem. It seems that when the Super Moderator clicks on the close and open link, it works right the first time. Just when the Admin does it, they have to re-do it. Does that help at all?
wow... looking great cant wait till the bug if fixed
nah i'm still not sure...
i've pm'ed firefly to read this thread and shed some light on the situation, but i hate pm'ing people for support :) |
You need to use $session[dbsessionhash] instead of the regular one.
Thanks Firefly! It worked like a charm. Knew you would be the one to know. :-)
And thanks goes out to you, nicksaunders, for coming up with the great hack in the first place. Hope to see many more from you. :-)
:) my pleasure...thanks firefly
They way you change the major version almost at every revision kinda reminds me about MS ;)
the way i do it is if there's a feature (or several, depending on the size of the hack) added, i go up a full version number...if it's a fix i just go up .1
darn i can't think of any way to improve this!!! :O :(
any way to make it when you click the close or open button it goes back to the forum display page and not the thread itself?
this would be complete if you could add that :) Thanks Nick |
possible?
i'll take a look at postings.php
any news?
nope
I have created a Usergroup, that can moderate one specific forum but they can't see the Button. How can I fix that?
Edit: I have found it :) |
