i think this would be an awsome idea! drop down message icon saves bandwidth and space! any one wana take a shot? cant be to hard? mabey just some template editing?

Like filburt1 said, you can't have icons inside drop down menus, only text.

I believe he is wanting something like a previous ubb hack. The avatar name is within the drop-down, when a user selects an avatar name, the avatar is displayed next to the drop down instantly.

Is that what you are wanting or am I thinking of something else?

It's already done for avatars when you register (as of 2.2.x I believe), so you can take the code from there.

Open Register.php & Find the Code for Avatars...

Adapt it to PostIcons...

You can? I really don't know, but I do know you can't with plain HTML.

It can be done easily for images in dhtml... but I am not to sure how it would work with integrating it with php/mysql

It'd be easy - you can integrate DHTML with php and MySQL just as you would with HTML. :)

Yes it can be done I agree...Mutt, remember when we worked on this for UBB? Let me find the one I had for UBB and see what dhtml script was used.
