Member Profile Quickfind
[ Feature Description ]
Have you ever wanted to go to someone's profile really quick without finding a post they have done, browsing through the long member list or going through the advanced member search? Now you can! In the member list, just enter the person's username into the Quickfind box and you will be sent right to their profile! [ What you need to modify/add ] File to modify: memberlist.php Template to modify: memberlist Templates to add: 2 [ Tested on ] vBulletin versions 2.2.0 - 2.2.5 [ Example ] http://www.gamingforce.com/forums/memberlist.php Hope everyone finds this hack as useful as my members find it. Enjoy! EDIT: See the next post for the attachment. |
Here it is! (Version 1)

nice hack, works well
|
Cool hack, nice work, thank you!
Just downloaded the hack, installed it and runs perfectly on creations.nl (vB 2.2.5) |
Muy muy excellente. I noticed this on your forums and was wondering if I could find it here. and whaddaya know :D
|
it is a great hack
BUT, what if u don't know the exact spelling of the name? Perhaps a pull down menu, or can u use * as wild cards to find names close to the spelling u know? |
Oh the whole point of this hack was to bring you to a profile really quickly without using huge database queries and stuff. Note that there is a feature called advanced search. I figured if you did not know the spelling for a name you could use the advanced search tool that vBulletin already provides.

Great hack, smooth install. Thanks!
|
This is a nice hack. Thanks.
vb.org could use it with the size of memberlist. :) |
Great hack! I was just testing it out. Is there a way to get it to act like the advanced search with just the name? Wildcards AND no capitalization? I know we can use the Advanced search, but this is easier and you don't have to load another page, it is right there. :)
|
Sounds like a good idea. I'll work on it.
Searches are not case sensitive btw =). Searching for "FiREFLy" would have the same effect as searching for "firefly". |
Thanks, I'll be looking forward to whatever you come up with. :)
The reason I thought it was case sensitive is because one of the templates that is added for the hack said something about user names being case sensitive. Quote:

Hi. I love this hack! I really needed it, too. Is there a way that I can remove the thick border in the middle and the darker edge on the middle?
|
Try making your colspan one number higher for that line with the black in it. :)

ARGH! I was doing too many things at once, reverted to the original membership template and now I cant get the middle section where you can select a letter in the alphabet. Any help?
I even tried on two test boards. No go. Fooey! Also, how do I get the A-Z list and the quick find box so that they are not on separate tables? Meaning they don't have a gap between them. thanks bunches |
Bumpity Bump ^ ^
