[high]UPDATE:[/high] i did the final layout:
https://vborg.vbsupport.ru/attachmen...&postid=240540 i will stick with this one... special thanks to serenity (a girl who kick ass in html). ;) i didnt put any copyright note over it, so firefly can see it well. :D May 7th 2002 the news page (built entirely with VB code): https://vborg.vbsupport.ru/attachmen...&postid=249059 Forums HomePage FORUMBITS Update: take a look and let me know what you think: https://vborg.vbsupport.ru/showthrea...579#post241579 below is the original post: -------------------------------- here it is one of my interfaces. i will post more and let you decide wich one should i choose as the default scheme. for now let me know what you think about those 2. ;) just be specific wich one you like better... Other choices: 2nd interface (freaky blue) Below is my first interface, [high]Teal Misery[/high]: |
Nice looking. Its a smooth layout but I would suggest adding a little bit of color. But I do like it :bunny:
|
ya. it will have colors.. the logo and the table contents will have icons and graphs. should i put XP style icons?
hmm i cant upload any attachments?? Quote:

2nd interface - freaky blue ;)
|
]that was much better! :D
|
looks real nice, good job! :) can't wait to see the final product ;)
|
steveeeeeeee... smachol. just say it. dont only look. what is your oppinion? :D
i see you shaking that a**... shaking that a** (the song).. actually you are browsing the thread right now. :) |
I like the 2nd one better.
|
isnt that to hard for the eyes? the teal one looks more relaxing.. not sure. let me know.
|
Well basically, I like the darker blue color more but I like the 2nd layout more. So a dark blue 2nd type layout :D
|
I like those. Don't use XP-style icons though. I never really liked those to begin with.
|
Ooooooooooooh! I like the blue scheme.
Do you hire out??? ;) |

|
like somebody else said you should use the freaky blue layout and have the Teal Misery colorscheme.

there will be always lamers... nothing to do with it...
|
that looks like a wicked site. That will look really really good :) . Did you design everything yourself? also how long has it taken to get it set up like that?
|
They're both awesome schemes, I can't decide which one but they're both brilliant! great work, keep it up!
|
hmm.. looks nice, nakkid... but keep in mind.. that a page with alot of images isn't really comfortable to browse. i see it here on vb.org. the darkblue style uses much more images then the other two styles. thats why i use the green one :).
|
If you we're to apply the Teal Misery color scheme to the Freaky Blue layout I think it would look really nice. - which upon actually reading all the posts I see was already suggested^_^.

the final layout....
i went into a different direction. special thanks to my friend serenity (yes a girl who kick ass in html). :) |
very nice, though the left column seems to be very big...better off if it would be aroud 160pixels so that the forumbits would take up the most part of the page
|
trust me, is not.. when you see the forumbits layout.. you will understand. it looks really nice.. but some parts are not finished.. it's not gonna look anymore like the ole VB we all know.. :)
it will be more like an interactive web station. once i finish the main forums page, i will install vbHome. btw, did you noticed? i use graphics, instead of numbers (1, 2, 3 online users and pms), they are dynamically updated. firefly, as usual, pulled some tricks on that and helped me out. another trick i did was the avatar improvement. if you dont have the avatar selected, instead of a noavatar image, it will show the usergroup image, in my case ADMIN. i really want to finish the forumbits so you all see a general vue... also my site will be fully powered by VB. in one directory. did you noticed also that the forumhome index.php is called now forums.php? |
yeah i do that also, change the index to forums.php, though a easier way to do that is by htaccess and make the visitor go to main.php or what you call it when he visits the site.
|
My site is already completely integrated with vBulletin, well the user base and template system. The rest is provided by a couple more tables and a cms.
http://www.total-anime.com/index.php |
I like the new one much better than the original. Good job.
|
thanks c-prompt. i reserve to all the forumbits surprise.. :)
today,.. or tomorrow. PPN, really nice. is that the site you show me a screenshot of your admin CP? djsap.. i know about .htaccess... :) i dont like it. i moded all. install.php, vbulletin.style, etc so when i will go online with i will simply do one install and is done, no custom templates etc. i made a little system that it allow me to edit the .style file (easier then through templates) then with one click everything is updated. ;) |
nakkid, bear in mind that if you update the -1 templateset, all your templates will be deleted when you upgrade. If you don't touch that set, never mind. :)
|
]2 much white for me... (https://vborg.vbsupport.ru/attachmen...&postid=240540 )
I'm more with gray/blue/red colors... check my 2 flashes :) http://www.wooolf.net/ (flash intro for my homepage [450Kb]) http://www.mpc.turbohost.net/flash (flash intro for MPC forums [900Kb]) |
Nice woolf, you've got some skills. :)
BTW why does all sites show me my IP address? Is that a new trend or something? |
]well... I was script kiddie once... ;)
I have this page about 5 years now and this IP thingy was there from the start :) So... maybe they ripped it from my page ;) BTW, thanx for comments :) |
Very nice design and layout there nakkid ;)
I look forward to seeing the forumbits, a great clean not overly complicated, yet impressive design. Good work :D |

PHP Code:
i think this is the most elegant solution for keeping updated your templates with the new code. ;) |
vbulletin.style can't really be compared since the tepmlates in it are not ordered...
|
so you tell me that the templates in 224 and 225 are not in the same order?? wierd. i thought all they do the devs is to edit that file.. or add at the bottom the code..
