PM to threadusers
PM to threadusers
Don't know if someone did this before, couldn't find it and so I created it on my own. Idea It happens very often that my mods what sent an information to all user of a thread. So some of them post in the thread and nobody will read it because the thread is old. Other do their job and sent PMs to all of the user which takes some time. So I deceided to do this hack. What does it? I'm using the PM to buddy part of vB. Just created a query to get all users out of the thread (who wants to receive PMs) and thats it. I also overwrite the max PM limit so this works for all users of the thread. It also checks if the user is a mod who wants to use this feature and if the thread exists. Installing I used vBHackMaker to create a vBHacker file and also created a txt file with vBHacker for those who don't use vBHacker. Install time about 5 min. !!!BACKUP YOUR FILES BEFORE YOU CHANGE ANYTHING!!! Screenshots Next posts Updates -Maybe use the subscribed thread users a well for this the_sisko |

Wow! Nice feature, the_sisko. I guess you've come back from your dry hack streak. Thanks for sharing.
|
This is great, just what i needed. Thanks.
|
how do i add more then one user to be able to access this feature
right now only myself not my mods can access this feature |
I tested this with my mods and all of them can use the feature.
Are your Mods in a special group? Which version do you use of vB? BTW: I don't check usergroups, I just using the vb part "ismoderator" to check the rights for it. |
Hi the_sisko,
nice hack, but don't work with my 2.2.5, because the message si: You have no user in your buddylist. What can I do, to make it works? |
how can i add another usergroup into the mix? It is currently set up so that only an Admin or mod for the forum can send one...i would like to allow SuperModerators to also send them.
|
I have this installed and as admin I can not use this feature, its says I do not have permission to mass PM people.
I am running vbb 2.2.8 |
Ok I figured the problem I had the options in the user group set to 0 (disabled) for the max PM's to send at one time I changed this to a # and it works now.
|
Ok I am not sure if it is this hack I installed or what but now when a user views a PM all the colors are differant from the rest of the board.

You have no user in your buddylist.
the same message on 2.2.9 greets by Prankster |
Worked fine for me in 2.2.9
Trying to figure out a way to make it fill in the auto subject with the thread title. Anyone have any clues? |
'You do not have permission to access this page' being seen by my moderators when they try to use the facility.
Using 2.3.0. Any ideas? |
Bump.
Disappointed by the lack of help I'm getting here. |
The hacker's last post on this forum was late 2002, what did you expect?
|
...that maybe other hackers might be able to lend a hand, maybe.
