New style ----------
 

I am thinking of selling a style that I have made up, and wanted to know how many people may be interested in it. I was going to give this style out for free, but I have had to rethink that idea since it has taken up much more time than any other style I have created to date.

This style is along the same lines of Ultrashock, but it is 100% original code, and graphics. Nothing is identical, but it is similar in terms of color, and bevels.

So how many people would be interested in it?

This style also has very little original HTML code from the default templates, so I do have to go back in and comment everything, so others could edit it easier if they chose to.

So do you like the style? I may change the bevels and colors around a little, but this is the general idea of what it will be like I believe.

I thought it would be a good idea to give a preview now and see how much interest there is in it, which will determine how much extra time I want to spend commenting and making it easy for people to modify.

The graphics are not done, including the table header graphic, it looks ok for testing, but it is not done. Also, none of the folder graphics, etc.. Are done either, so keep that in mind when looking at this layout. :)

It will be lower if I think more people are interested, but I will try and keep it reasonable either way. :)

Well let me start by saying that this was not some way for me to go out and make money, this was a style that I wanted to create because I admired the general look of Ultrashock, and I give full credit to NRG for making such a great design and style. I was going to write him before ever releasing this style to the public, but wanted to get an idea if a lot of people wanted it released or not, and that post was my way of doing that.

I had decided to charge a small amount since then because of all the extra time I spent making the code so it could be edited by others (IE: commenting, etc...) I only wanted to recoup some of the lost hours on the mods that I added to accommodate other people that may want to change the style.

This style can easily be changed to another look, it is quite simple, but I made it to resemble the look of Ultrashock because I liked it so much, but tried to get my own take on it.

It was really only meant to be a heavily hacked forum for people to use on their own forums, and to learn from. You see, people have admired Ultrashock’s layout for quite sometime now, but most don’t know how to modify them in such a way, and since I can do it well, I thought they would love to have a similar type of forum layout to learn from.

I have not decided if I am going to sell this style yet, or distribute it in any way, but was only gauging to see if people wanted it released or not.

I know people will argue that it is too closely modeled to Ultrashock, but it is 100% my own code, with nothing being the same. Like I mentioned, it can be changed very quickly to resemble another look, but I thought it would be nice to release it this way so people could see what could be done with it. Since they have admired Ultrashock for quite sometime, I thought it was a good choice.

So please don’t take to much offense to it, was only trying to release a heavily hacked forum that people could learn from in the first place. I should have spoken to NRG first (just so it was not a shock), and for that I apologize.

Then don't copy someone elses work. Make it original. Regardless if its 100% your work, you still copied it and you admit it.

This style was always meant to be released for free, so people could play around with it, and that is what I am going to do. I was thinking of charging based on extra time I spent trying to make it pretty for everyone (to recoup the lost time only), but that is no longer going to happen. :)

I have a couple of items still left to do, and will possibly be changing the layout some (to take away the Ultrashock look), but after it is how I want it to be, it will be free! ;)

I can see that he was inspired a little bit by UltraShoch but they have much different category images and stuff . .all that looks the same is the colors .. thats it . .so I dont see it as a rip .. I also really like the style and want it . .hehe
