PAID Hack request $$$$!
I'm looking for someone to do me a paid hack of search.php (and anywhere else that's applicable) to use the full text search capabilities of MySQL 4.
I want no reference to the searchindex or word table at the end of it all. Please PM or email your quotes if you are interested. |
Give it a try :) search.php is by far the most confusing file in vBulletin ;)

Hey! who's thread is this? Go start your own if you want to talk about vB3. :)
Now who wants, to do my hack... for a little cheaper than Freddie. :) |
Actually, I did just discover my FT index version of search.php and it's actually very simple to do. At least, the code mods I'm seeing look pretty simple (although that file is hard to follow).
You should have my email (or you could probably get my ICQ number; it's not hard to find :)). |
Ed,
Thanks for your help on this. It was surprisingly easy to get it working. I can now make searches with an empty word and searchindex table (although the results leave a little to be desired at the moment). :) I'm having a bit of trouble with the 'IN BOOLEAN' modifier. Even with + in front of every word, it still seems to return stuff that doesn't contain all words. I suppose I can't expect too much at the moment... 4.01 is only alpha, after all. Thanks again for your help Ed. |
