Users w/ Zero posts
 

Not sure how I want to word this, or how I should word it... :cheeky:

Say you have users that have zero posts but frequently visit your board. Besides just sending out a bland e-mail, could there be a way to get them to contribute more instead of always viewing?

It could be something like, if a user with 0 posts is registered after X days, they *have* to contribute?

If I'm not explaining myself correctly let me know :confused: - and apologies in advance if this has been mentioned before :nervous:

Ya know, like have some sort of way to have the zero-post-non-contributing users take part in the board and post ... :lick:

So umm... if they are zero-post-non-contributing users they will be meet by a screne that says you must contribute.... then what?

Their ability to view forums will be temporarily disabled and have a list of said-members in admin ctrl panel? They will have a user title changed to Non-contributing member? Uhh.. trying to think of other things here...

Hm, I will try to think of other things. First time I ever thought of this and had to keep thinking about it.. LMAO! :laugh:

You see if they could not view the forum... how could they contribute.. so liek you said temporarily disabled and a usergroup change...

Eek... duh.

Hm. Maybe... have a 3-strike type of thing? Like...

Zero-post user is told (nicely mind you :laugh: ) to contribute to the board, they click on "OK" - link or button, or both.. to continue where they were before...

the first time they receive the message it is recorded in a list in admin ctrl panel next to their username...

2nd time - maybe after X days, they receive the "you must contribute" thing again, and again it is recorded, and they continue on as before.

3rd time, again after X days, last chance or account will be temp. disabled and must contact mod and/or admin...

If X many posts are accrued (sp?) in between "you must contribute" notification, they are taken off the list in admin ctrl panel..

This is just off the top of my head, dunno what's complicated and what isn't...

Ok, the 3 strike thing works.. this will take me a little longer since I have to add db stuff.
