I took Tubedoggs vBulletin hack and modified it to kick some ass.. :D
Check it out guys.. My first hack for all of you! :D

I currently have 18 people on line. 8 members and 10 guest
that hack is telling me that I have 20 members and 10 guests
and it is displaying only 10 guests and one guest is displaying double and another one is displaying triple and one is not displaying at all :?: And they are all visible members

and did you gave the credit in your file to tubedogg?

I would like to request that you please add the following to your hack:

1. font type variable - have user enter a font(s) they want to use in a $font string. Like Aerial, Verdana, etc. for display just like any web text.

2. font size - allow the input on a variable string for the font size (ie. 12 point, 8 point, etc.).

I got the hack working, but the text is WAY too big and needs to be customizable for appearence.

You will have to post the code because I can't get it working. Your statment doesn't show how to actually do this. Also, this is something the author of the hack needs to address on this board and in a revised version.

hmm its not working for me I get a parse error

I get it working fine but it has the same problems Tubedoggs did, i.e. shows more people online then there actually are.

Since the whole point of these hacks is to show who is online on another page, and since neither one accurately reflects that total, they are pretty much useless, no offense. I mean, I could write a random number generator a lot easier and stick it up, there'd be no difference:)

I'm gonna take a look at wajone's code for vbportal, he figured out how to do it, looks like:)

has anyone tried this with 2.3.0 and it sounds like sessions are no the way to go.

Will using cookines solve the problem of duplicate users showing up?
