IMPORTANT: If you are using v2.2.3 and up please read this thread!
https://vborg.vbsupport.ru/showthrea...threadid=35894

This is more of a visual change, but still requires hacking the files.
All it does is make the look of [code], [php] and [quote] codes better (IMO), instead of the ugly lines which are used right now.

Demo:
https://vborg.vbsupport.ru/showthrea...2985&styleid=4
https://vborg.vbsupport.ru/showthrea...2985&styleid=1

Everything you need is in the text file, have fun. :D

Admin 02-24-2002 07:29 AM

Duh...

TECK 02-24-2002 07:30 AM

great hack firefly.. now all you have to do is fix the prob with your attachments.. lol ;)

remember the issue we discussed about attachments not being changed while reuploaded in the same post? thanks.

TECK 02-24-2002 07:33 AM

you are getting dangerously closer to your 100th hack.. hihi

Admin 02-24-2002 07:34 AM

Actually I forgot to upload the hack in the first place and I couldn't be bothered to hit edit. ;)
And https://vborg.vbsupport.ru/showthrea...threadid=35279

Jawelin 02-24-2002 07:38 AM

I saw it and suddendly would ask you the mod.... But you're faster to help everybody!!! ;)
Great!!!

Admin 02-24-2002 07:40 AM

Oh, check out on this board a private message with loads of quotes... it looks really cool. :D

TECK 02-24-2002 07:44 AM

ok.. thanks firefly.. sometimes i forget my glasses in the bedroom hehe, i don't see my own threads. ;)

TECK 02-24-2002 07:49 AM

a cool mod to this hack would be to change oposite the color of post.. i could throw a quick change in there, if you are not in the mood.. ;) but remember that i dont post hacks anymore?

i'm sure you could satisfy the masses :D

TECK 02-24-2002 07:53 AM

i would also add a br html code after the table to give more space after the table, it would be more pleasant.. but that's me ;) the perfect example is the post above. let me know firefly.

Admin 02-24-2002 07:57 AM

Done.

And yes nakkid did see it before you... heck he even PM'ed me about it! ;)

TECK 02-24-2002 09:05 AM

:) you are fast.. looks great firefly.

Mark Hewitt 02-24-2002 10:44 AM

This makes quotes look great but what I'd like it to do not to have a seperate colour of it's own but be the opposite alt colour i.e. if it's in a post with firstaltcolour background then the background will be secondaltcolor

Lucky 02-24-2002 11:21 AM

PHP Code:

Great work my friend

You may want to insert the following into your postbit_signature so they too look as cool.

Code:

<normalfont><br><br>
<table cellSpacing="1" cellPadding="3" width="90%" align="center" border="0" align="center">
<tr><td>
<font face="verdana" size="1"><b>Signature:</b></font></td>
</tr>
<tr>
<td style="BORDER-RIGHT: #000000 1px solid; BORDER-TOP: #000000 1px solid; FONT-SIZE: 11px; BORDER-LEFT: #000000 1px solid; COLOR: #eeeeff; BORDER-BOTTOM: #000000 1px solid; FONT-FAMILY: Verdana,Arial; BACKGROUND-COLOR: #1d6aa0">
$post[signature]</normalfont></td></tr></table>

Floris 02-24-2002 11:33 AM

Code & php vBcode hacks do require alternation of the php files, but for signature & quote you can just apply template hack. See mah sig :) FireFly, very cool done, .. :)

X-Fan 02-24-2002 12:36 PM

Is there any way to have this hack automatically detect the background colour of the post it's in and to set the table background colour to the alternate colour as specified in the style?

TECK 02-24-2002 12:47 PM

yes there is a way x-fan. and is not that hard also.

SaintDog 02-24-2002 01:07 PM

Thanks FireFly, I could not get others to work, but this one works just fine.

Nice Hack!

Yep, so you put in the code to find as...

PHP Code:

{codebackground

...and the code to insert as the number of the colour you want as the background of the box.

Then do another with...

PHP Code:

{codefontcolor

...as the code to find and then the number of the colour you want as the colour of the text in the box (usually #000000 for black or #FFFFFF for white).

Psychdrone 02-24-2002 11:27 PM

man I fell so newbieish :surprised

What the hells wrong with me today

Thanks guys!

FireFly,
Will you adopt me? *lol*
No surprise...another very cool hack. I had this up and running in mere seconds.... and it looks great.

Thanks for sharing :)
Chris

p.s. If you do adopt me, we'll discuss my allowance vs chores... heh heh...

Admin 02-25-2002 05:44 AM

But you posted. "There is a way, it's not that hard also". So if you are not prepared to share it (fair enough). Why did you say that? To taunt people with your knowledge? To somehow say "I'm better than you because I know stuff you don't know?"

I have hacks on my board that I don't share with everybody, mostly because they lack a proper user interface etc. But I don't come onto the forum saying what I've done and then refuse to let anyone know how I've done it!

Lucky 02-25-2002 09:09 AM

Yup,

Piss or get off the pot.

hehe JK :)

Bald Bouncer 02-25-2002 09:21 AM

LOL yeah I agree with Hewitt :D

I had a try at doing it but the quote boxes wouldnt load the variables :(
