I'm not sure if anyone's done this already (but I couldn't find a hack for it!):
I've written a hack for those who have a donation system on their forums, and wish to have the users who've contributed marked as such on their posts and in profiles without adding an extra user group. Basically, on their posts it can have either a text line or an image (it's up to you), and on their profile it'll say: Username - Contributor (or any other word you choose) Admin can update this through the CP. I haven't documented it yet, and it's probably buggy - so, the gist of this post (he finally gets to his point!) is whether anyone's interested in trying out the code before I release it? It works fine for me, but there may be some other functions I've missed out on... Pls PM if you're interested (or just reply here;)). Mark |

Sounds great Mark, i'm willing to help you with testing the code. I'm using 2.0.3.
Sure I'll be glad. :)
Thinking about it, I could probably use it here too with a modification or two... I was planning to have something like this for Hacker of the Month. :)
Thanks guys :) You both have PMs.
Im looking forward to this hack :)
It works perfect here, no problems. Easy & fast install.
Great hack. |
Thanks Mark, I'll install it later today and tell you how it goes. :)
Cool  If all goes well, I'll release it over the weekend :D
Works great for me... except for some mods I needed to do because of other hacks installed it was fine.
Anyway I can get my hands on this hack? I was just wonderin about this cuz this is exactly what I need! Glad someone made it, becuz I know nothing about programming... :D

Sounds great - I'm lookng forward to this. Is there any way the 'Contributor' field could allow HTML?

has anyone got this 2 work on vbb 2.2.1, everything seems to work fine, apart from the postbit template. when i viewing a thread of a person who has contributed nothing appears to say that he has contriubtued, but if i use the members list it shows up fine.
I have also made should the varible $post[Donation] is in the postbit template. Any kind soul out there can help me out!!! :) Thanks |
this worked great for me in 2.2.5, but will not install in 2.2.6.
little help? |
This is very cool, and will come in handy on my site, I intend to change it so that they are marked as a member of staff, because I dont want all my staff writers made admins/mods on the forum... so this is great :)

i'm using php3, is there another version or does it work anyway?
I know this is very old, but I wanted to reinstall it, can you take a look at http://www.bodybuilding4life.com and tell me why it says Array [donation] I am not sure why it is posting it up there on top, i did everything to the T.
