11-26-01: I just reached 600 members.

At this very moment, TWF has 4,913. But many are inactive.

Think i'm nearing the 300 mark now.

however I tend to think a better indicator of 'success' might be how many of your users return on a consistent basis.

Right now, my forums are seeing about 110 returning consistently on a daily basis (approx. 30%).

I'd be interested in hearing what percentage others are getting as well as total member counts.

My boards have 16,000 registered members and we prune each month. Pruning back members who haven't been active in a year or more. Daily we have several thousand who visit and use our message boards. (I think...checking stats now. :D)

Okay...EDIT

I checked and have average of 40 new users per day...and I have no clue how to check stats for total users everyday. I hadn't ever looked in the VB control panel for the stats and was surprised it didn't offer "users daily". Just new users.

I get between 2700 and 3200 unique per day on my webalizer stats. Should I assume that is the active members on my boards?

Nearing the 200 mark!! wee hee!! lol

In the control panel under the 'users' heading, click on find and then in the resulting page click on visitors in last 24 hours or something to that effect.

That's the closest thing you'll get I think to returning members on a daily basis.

gah, my board only has 30, but its doing very well, every members posts..

its great, im very happy with my board

just hit 2,505 members today :D

Got around 500 that come back more than once a week, so thats em 20% i guess.

My boards have about 520 members right now.

7281 active members

and we average between 15-50 new registrations per day.

nearing 600 (590)

average about 3 new a day

We used to have arround 17,085 members till our forum lost its database... Now we have 1,250 or more (can't remember the count, but it's over 1,200). Sadly the server is temporarily down :(

I hope it comes back up again.

my board has been open for less then a day.... and it is up to 34 members right now.

my board is a counterstrike clan, so it is not one for large member numbers - hence only 25!

Just broke 5000 today. :)

we had about 400 members, and 50,000 posts on a UBB. Then after what some would consider a civil war, all was lost.

since then we've rebuilt and have 254 active members. upgraded to vB in November because I liked the Administrative options, and the SQL backend.

Most members like the UBB style interface, so I've made it look a lot like the UBB- however it's 100% vB.

On the UBB we had almost 10.000 registered members, but we switched to vBB and now we have allready in 2 weeks time 2000 members reregistered again...
