Social Connect for vBulletin 4.2.x

Hi everyone,

I have just enabled Faccebook connect on my forum and it's working as well now.

https://vborg.vbsupport.ru/external/2016/10/7.jpg

But Facebook connect is not enough, I need to have Google+ and Twitter because they also are popuplar social networks and they can bring a bit more members for our forum.

I tried to find these in admincp but didn't see option for Google+ and Twitter.

Just want to know, Google+ and Twitter connect will be added in next versions of vBulletin 4.2.x?

Thanks

They wont be added to vB4 at any point.

Its also likely that Facebook will eventually fail as FB keep updating their code, slowly breaking the integration.

It is a bad news and vB team is spending all the time to support vB5 which I will never use or not going to use it in the future.

Is there an official announcement about vB4 which vB team will not support or develop it any more? so I think I will choose or spending time/money for other forum cms.

I saw "social networks connect" used on big sites and they are using this method as main registration form for their members. I used it when registering to any sites.

the final line: I am think my vB4 forum which I am using is vB6 :D just for fun. Its really good and better than even vB5, IPB or Xenforo (I am using Xenforo for a forum).

I assume they will still support vBulletin 4, but only for security patches and (major) bugs.

This is a mod I used years ago, looks like it's still around. Or at least the site is, check it out.

Dave hasn't even been on his own site since June 20th. He disappeared from here before then. I'm not sure he's even developing any longer.

I didn't see a Mod that support to register with Google+ or Twitter there like Facebook connect from vBulletin.

Also I prefer having this function from vB team than getting external codes, it can be lost after upgrade to latest vB version or not work as well as "Facebook connect" vB team did.

Obviously, you're still here. :D

I checked some websites and any freelancers for this but didn't get any. I hope to have it in next versions of vB 4.2.x, it is still better if vB team can do that.

You won't see any new features in vB4, ever. That has not happened for years now, and it won't suddenly change. vB4 is no longer under active development, even if it receives occasional updates to make it compatible to newer php versions.

You are right, but it is still good, even I am thinking it is better than vB 5 if we make customizations for it.

If vB team can give it a little time for updating features then they could get more new customers beside vB 5.

I am using both vB and XF and I consider vB 4 can compare with XF if do improvements on it.

Problem is: It won't happen. If they had done a good job with vB5 in the first place, we would not hope for improvements of an soon ten year old software, which, at it's core, is even older.

Once xF2 is out - the really impressive dev previews already are - vB4 will really look and feel its age.

When vB will not have any version can compare with xF2
