Is that recent ?

I would guess your install count has gone up, since your styles all look like they have been there a while.

Max Taxable 07-06-2016 09:43 PM

Congrats!

RichieBoy67 07-07-2016 01:20 AM

Congratulations!

MarkFL 07-07-2016 01:27 AM

Congrats! :)

Be warned though...from what I recall reading, the release level status doesn't follow a linear progression, but rather an exponential one. :o

You could also say they let anyone into the contributor club. :D

Well, that's not really what I was trying to imply...I recall when I first got the "Contributor" title, I was quite happy about it. :D

As I released more and more products, I began to notice that each release level was noticeably more difficult to get than the previous, and after some digging around I found one of Paul's posts explaining that the formula for determining a user's release level is pretty extensive, many factors are involved, and as far as installs go, this follows an exponential curve. IIRC, Paul said it is twice as difficult to get to the next level as it was to get to the current level. Much like how the frequencies of musical notes are related to a musical scale...where getting to the next level is like climbing an octave.

I think this makes a great deal of sense mathematically, and is an appropriate model to use.

There is some formula based on the # of releases you have (add-on, styles, graphic sets), the total number of "installs" of said releases, and weighted (I believe) that releases for newer VB versions count more than releases for older VB versions.

This formula will determine your title. The first "upgrade" is to "Contributor" and then depending on what your releases are you might go to "Coder" or "Designer" or a "Coder/Designer" combo for people who release both add-ons and styles in sufficient quantities.

As I recall, Mark and Joe are pretty much spot on.

If you hover over your title, it will pop up a tooltip of your actual current [overall] release level.

RL1 = Contributor, RL2+ = Coder or Designer (or both).

(You can also see a list of Coders or Designers, it can take a few seconds to build and display the lists).

What is a release level?

Read post #12 in this thread...Joe explains how it's computed and therefore what it means. :)
