Bug (Fixed) - PM Notification Bugs
 

When you have a new PM the yellow box that shows at the top of the page has a couple of bugs. First the image on the left doesn't show, and second the link to the PM point to /private.php. For the second bug that should probably be just private.php.

Note: I replaced the pmid with X, but that at least the pmid itself was correct.

Ummm, this yellow box is news to me, where do you see that exactly ?

Weird, it's been there as long as I can remember. It's at the top of forum index if I visit the index before any forum when I've received a new pm.

I sent a pm to myself, checked every style and no yellow box for me.

Doesn't work if you send it to yourself I tried that today to recreate. If you get email notifications of pms go straight to the forum index and you should see it, unless it's some weird user setting I turned on at some point.

I have never seen this either, so obviously it must be controlled by some option.

If I were to guess I'd say it's the Show New Private Message Notification Pop-up option that controls it.

Your guess would be correct, thats something I never use (and apparently neither do many other people) which is why I've never seen it before. I made a few minor changes to it.

Was it just removed altogether? Just tried PM'ing myself and didn't get it. Although it could be because I PM'd myself.

Me neither. It looks like a notice probably se to display to only 1 usergroup.

I seen it for the very first time the other day.
When I first came here and set up my options, I set me pm notification to not show a pop up.
On my site as well as many other vb sites the pm notification poup is just that, an annoying pop up.
Here however its set to show the following below the navbar without a popup.
There is an addon the does what is set to show here when you have a new pm.
