Hectorsky 01-23-2016 07:23 PM

So, you created a new style (with no parent, I assume?) and it has a checkmark next to it so it is selectable and then you are picking it in the forum style chooser and it takes you to a style called Themes? You don't have "styleid=xx" in the URL, do you?

Hectorsky 01-23-2016 09:32 PM

I just changed defauld style to my new style and is works fine , I hope :)
Thanks

What do you mean stlyid=xx in the URL?

Lynne 01-24-2016 04:57 PM

I mean exactly what I said. If you clicked a style link in the admincp to view the site, it will have styleid=xx at the end of the URL and no matter what you do in the stylechooser, it will only show styleid xx since that is in the URL.

Hectorsky 01-24-2016 06:12 PM

Something like that? /?styleid=36

Almost certainly the same cause as I have posted in your other thread....incorrectly doctored config file. Clear your browser cookies and cache, restart the browser, and try again.

I've fixed your config file now...please don't make ANY further alterations to it, it is fine as it is.

Thanks again , I didn't know what was the issue from...

still doesn't work

Lynne 01-26-2016 04:30 PM

I just looked at your site and you don't even have the option on for user's to change styles. Go to AdminCP > Settings > Options > Style & Language Options > Allow Users to Change Styles > Yes.

Hectorsky 01-26-2016 04:46 PM

Yea , I know about that , but I mean for admin , If i want to choose an other style is still redicerting me to Themes..

Lynee told you how to fix this. The Admin confirms to this rule just like all the users

I'm not sure about vb5, but it doesn't on vb4. Admin can select disabled themes, but not if User select is completely disabled.

Hectorsky 01-26-2016 07:02 PM

Let me explain to you If i want to choose a style from admin account , it redirecting me to themes , not to style

You are going to have to provide screenshots.
in vBulletin there are no Themes, there are Styles.

There are Themes , I think from folder , so when I want to choose like default style , it redirecting me to Themes folder

In your AdminCP -> Style Manager you have a style called "Themes" which has several children, and because the parent has a smaller "Display Order" value than any of the others, it is being listed first. Other users will only see the two styles you have checked.

Hectorsky 01-26-2016 07:56 PM

IggyP 01-26-2016 08:50 PM

just general info, vb5 no longer uses styles, they changed to themes...and admin can pick any style in vb5 if enabled or not...

for this issue it seems should be a simple cache issue or such...i have seen that happen before but not as a persistant issue

vB5 does use styles, the system hasn't changed, but there are also some pre-made 'themes' that come with the product.

There seems to be a bug in 5.2.0 regarding styles / themes in the admincp:
http://tracker.vbulletin.com/browse/VBV-15585

There's a possibility a patch might be issued but this isn't confirmed at this point.

The workaround for now is to put the site into debug mode while you need to edit styles.

hmm, well i just noticed that after 5.2 the default "style" breaks if you try to load a topic, and vb.com has removed them completely as user selectable and replaced with "default theme"...but ya bummer the stylevars broke at the same time...little frustrating..
