If you are on the fence about which Hosting company to use....
Hey Everyone. I know first hand how hard it is to decide on a hosting company. I originally started out with godaddy shared plan. Why not right? Godaddy seemed to be the biggest. It was a terrible mistake. After three years of constant frustration, and battling constant issues with Godaddy I decided to make a change.
I spent countless hours looking for another hosting company. Choices were plenty but with so many opinions, reviews, pricing, specs, it was hard to know which one to go with, to trust. I contacted Jaguar. I explained my situation with them and needed advice. They were extremely helpful and explained since godaddy shared hosting didn't use cpanel that the move would be difficult but they would assist and walk me through the process. Without exaggerating, Jaguarpc made this move seamless, and helped me through the process and got everything set up perfectly. I signed up with Jaguarpc 5 years ago, Hands down was the best choice I ever made. I started with a VPS with Jaguarpc and later upgraded to a Hybrid server. I can honestly say both of my servers with Jaguar has been ultra reliable and no issues at all. I have contacted support on several occasions with issues I ran into on my own, and they were totally awesome with getting the issues resolved. They are always there when you need advice and they are always actively involved in the forums. 24/7 support is working round the clock. Over the years I have gotten to know some of the customer support and tech support people, and they are all awesome, very personable and genuinely concerned with any issues you have. Does Jaguarpc have hiccups now and then, sure they do, just like the hundreds of other web hosting companies, but the only difference is that Jaguarpc makes things right, and they do care for their clients. I recommend Jaguarpc to everyone because I believe in this company and support them right back with good word of mouth. I also take the time to leave good reviews around the web. THis way others that are on the fence can have a good solid recommendation. My 5 year anniversary is coming up with Jaguarpc, and its been an excellent experience. This is an honest review and I hope it helps others. I know there is other great hosting companies out there, but this has been my experience. |
12 years now I have been on GD deluxe shared hosting plan. Many sites hosted on it, lots of traffic and bandwidth usage, tons of storage over the years including 100s of mp3 files, and always had great service and uptime has been outstanding. I must be one lucky mutha.

When it comes to shared hosting, I'm personally very satisfied with stablehost.com. Never had any downtime and support is great. transip.eu is my favorite when it comes to a VPS.
I would avoid any company related to EIG. |
When I was with Godaddy Shared hosting, it was constant problems. Slow, and a lot of times there was clients that told me they couldn't view the websites on my shared server.
I started out with their shared hosting. For the most part, it was sufficient for what I needed. I had several domains on the hosting, and created a directory, and forum. My first issue was that my websites were getting "BLOCKED" by spam filters, or corporate surf control. I called Godaddy to complain, and talked to several tech people and even supervisors. They all downplayed it and said it must be something on my website that is causing it. I had nothing wrong with my websites. So I did some checking. Here the "shared" server (Ip address) they had me on was with about 1200 other websites. Most of these Websites were virus sharing, high risk sites!!!!!! All through Godaddy. So the way I was able to resolve the issue was getting a Ssl certificate, which I didn't need, but the Ssl certificate was $30 a year and came with a dedicated Ip address. This was cheaper then $3.00 a month for a dedicated Ip. Once I got my dedicated Ip, I had no more surf control or blockage issues. When I confronted Godaddy with a list of known High Risk sites that they host, they acted like they weren't aware of it. Then: I called Godaddy to ask about performance issues. Network was slow. The tech support guy I was talking to talked me into "upgrading" to their New Grid Hosting. It was still a shared hosting, but was on a "Grid" of servers and would be much faster, more reliable and better. I switched to the Grid hosting. Had to move all my sites, directory over the the "new" grid hosting server. What he didn't tell you is that Grid hosting has a whole list of things and scripts that are not compatible. Luckily none were any I used. Speed = No Difference. It was not any faster at all. After I moved my entire directory over, I found my "directory forum" didn't work any more. I called Godaddy tech support. I spent literally 20 hours combined time on the phone, and about 2 weeks time until I gave up. The directory didn't work any more. Godaddy blamed it on the script and said it was the script's fault. I contacted the scripts developer and he said there was nothing wrong and that it was on Godaddy's server that was causing the issue. I fought and fought with Godaddy and never got past them blaming it on the script, even though I copied it back over to the shared hosting and it worked, and they saw that!!! I ended up getting another directory script that would work. 3 months later, I turn on the original directory script, and low and behold it worked!! The developer said that Godaddy had problems with the Php setup, which they denied, but they must of found it and fixed it later on. Aghhhh! And from time to time, weird things would happen. Like files being deleted, or added to my directory? Even folders showing up that were obviously from someone Else's hosting. What made me finally decide to bail was when I tried to install a mail program on my forum. And it failed because Godaddy had Php Imap turned off. They told me it was because of "security" reasons. I spoke to several other hosting sources and they said the "security" reason is crap. I switched to Jaguarpc and it was the best decision I made. I have no issues. I was on a VPS first and then upgraded to a Hybrid Server. Everything is exceptional. Also, I use namesilo for my domains now. Since Godaddy doesn't let you use coupon codes to renew, they are more than triple in cost. Namesilo is cheap, great service, and easy to switch over to. |
I have been with interserver for over two years and they are awesome.

HostGator, Bluehost, URLJet are some of my favorites. LiquidWeb... just don't ask, don't ask and I wouldn't do you like that if the story was a tall tale, no no ladies and gents it's a marvelous grand story full of jaw dropping awe inspiring three stooges behavior at best and on two separate occasions at that! Needless to say it made and left an impression on me after the second time . GoDaddy for domain names only unless you have a dedicated with them (imo).

My sultantheme.com is with Godaddy now. Since the domain is with them since 2007.
Godaddy is using cPanel now, very good like other hosting and very nice cPanel skin too. But resource limit is very low but can purchase with extra 2usd. It notify me when the resource hit limits and not all the time limit is hit. But Godaddy is not xenforo friendly installation. Hostgator is in a shit now not like with previous owner. I think every company sold will come to shit like vbulletin. Support ticket answered in 2 weeks that is very bad for business hosted. No notification to website owner email when the site was blocked because of resource limit usage. Many years with them without problem. Now they blocked me. I can moved to any hosting company if they have cPanel ready and I don't mind get off from Godaddy to somewhere better when there will be unanswered problem later on. Resource limit a must check now for each shared hosting product, I don't want hosting company hidden these thing. There is no unlimited stuff actually when there is resource limit. I checked on stablehost, it said 1gb ram resource with 3mbit IO, Godaddy only 512mb ram and 1Mbit IO. Its not stated in package but it shown in cPanel but upgradable to 2 stages.Stablehost bigger but lower with processes |

I switched from Hostgator to MDDHOSTING about 6 months ago, after Hostgator was bought out and the customer service and quality went right down the toilet. MDD has been absolutely fantastic. The customer service is like night and day.
My advice: Avoid ANY company that has been bought up by EIG!
