2- Import the xml file from admincp

Actually very nice to have so many nice features in a single system. Though I do have to ask, you appear to be completely new on this forums, and your site also appears to be new. You waited until this system was done until you registered your domain last month and opening it up?

Thanks Skyrider, About your question yes vbwonders.com is only a site to support the modification for free as you see the domain name is the modification name why I need to register a domain name without completing the modification :D

We made everything done for a paid modification we made the same in a free modification ... A huge modification with some unique features .. Separete support site ... Etc

Something like a welcome back to vBulletin world, I know I left the free modification from more than 3 years till now, And I hope that vBWonders will be something good enough to back to vBulletin again ;)

Trying to install, getting:

Getting same error when running vbwonders_install.php directly. Checked out the file, and the query create commands for some reason is not being run correctly. Odd.

it looks like you've imported the xml file before running the installation script, you've to run the installation script first then import the xml file

Sorry, but I don't see that mentioned anywhere. There's no readme file either. Further more, I'm afraid installing this through the xml completely breaks down the forums plus you are unable to login on the forums seeing it constantly gives the sql error. Personally, that's bad :p. I'm aware disabling the plugins makes it magically works again to remove/re-install, but it should be mentioned towards the users before it breaks things down.

Upload the files in the upload folder

Point your browser to your site/vbwonders_install.php

Upload the xml via plugin manager

Edit settings your site/vbwonderscp.php

*I don't beleive the ticked options and save settings are working...

Correct they are not saving... therefore nothing is working as far as I can tell...

Seems like I'm missing a few options. I have the Spam Cleaner enabled via the vbwondercp and have it set to usergroups 5 and 6, yet I don't see the "spammer" option under users posts.

In addition, in the vbulletin admincp, I see no options, anywhere, to access any of the features of vBWonders. I'm assuming it's all done via the vbwonderscp.php file?

It also specifies that the template editor can only be done via vbulletin's admincp, yet I see no options for it there either.

The Admin Guard, however, seems to have functioned as advertized.

I use vbulletin 4.2.2

Are you able to login to vbwondercp with the same password that you've defined during the installation ?

Also do you have any edits in your config.php path ?

The spam cleaner, you should see an icon in every post like the screenshots in the first post, if you believe that your user groups permissions are correct and you are still experiencing the same issue please send a PM to me with the vbwonderscp password

Templates editor : The EDITING TEMPLATE feature are only accesable from admincp for better security, so you will see a red note in top of the template edit in admin cp telling you that you can click here to edit it with vBwonders click on that link it will redirect you to vbwonders admin only area ... Please note that vBwonders editor works only with the edited templates not the default un edited templates

THERE IS NO options for vbwonders in admincp, we've our own control panel that controls all of the vBwonders features

Uninstalled it changes original templates and .htacces you will lose any othe changes made...

And what's the problem when you've a file like .htaccess :D
Many modifications already have the same thing, For example ALL OF THE SEO MODS !!!

It will overwrite your previous rewrites and replace with yours...

Not good, and why use install.php when you can just use a plugin?

It might be free but its a mess...

I'm not surprising of what you've said because you don't understand anything in coding or in vBulletin coding so let me tell you these things first and then you can reply AGAIN :

First you need to know what's the difference between plugin and running an SQL statement !!!!!!!

Running an SQL statement like creating tables or altering table is NOT SOMETHING DONE VIA PLUGINS.

The plugins which are called "HOOKS" which are a code to be run inside certain file pre-defined by vBulletin and we don't have any control of the places of the hooks in the files! PLEASE REMEMBER THIS THING AND WE NEED IT IN BELOW ABOUT THE TEMPLATE SYSTEM

So if you don't have a hook in a file like template.php ??? You can't edit this file via plugins :):)

What does that mean ????

If you want to run a code inside a certain file you need a hook inside it which is a vBulletin pre-defined as I told you, So when you don't have a HOOK you will replace the file with the edited one.

So you can't put an installation code of creating tables ... etc in plugins because plugins are calling every time when that file is running.

Which will generate a database error that x table is already exists and your forum will be down.

PLEASE UNDERSTAND FIRST AND THEN SAY A "MESS" :up:

I do understand and I appreciate the response, I have used your other mods before and was just disappointed with this mod, hope the next version will be better...

What you need "You don't want to replace your template.php file" is a vBulletin limitation, If there were a proper hook inside that file.

I can make something that will change the way of the editing, Now you need to login to admincp and then you can follow a link to edit the template via vBWonders that's better for SECURITY, However we can for sure do that without replacing template.php and vBWonders will have a only one layer of security for editing template which is the login process.

Code editor in Hooks : Looks like a good idea, I really liked it :) We are going to replace the entire vBulletin admincp with an advanced one :D

Notifications issue : Looks like you've a modifications conflict, Please disable all mods except vBWonders and let me know if you are able to re-produce the same error.

Followed the instructions and thought it was going great right up until I imported the XML. The moment I did that I got database errors. Restored to the database previous of me installing this knowing it was a risky modification at the moment.

All I really want out of it is the hashtag feature... nothing else.

On a side note, after restoring the database to a version never touched by this mod I can't even run its installer:

The table its referencing doesn't even exist in vBulletin.

Clearly this modification is no where near stable enough for the whole thing.

Believe me when I tell you this though: it seems like it could be really great if it worked.

Frankly, separate the hashtag part of this mod into a separate modification and I would download it in a heartbeat. I'm sorry but BOPS and DBTech are way out of their minds charging so much for such a basic feature. Not to say they don't make good products.

Looks like you tried MANY TIMES to run the installation script, Which is wrong, Believe me you are really have the vbwonders_page table in your database !!!

You just need now to import the XML files, Why you keep trying to run the installation script more and more!

Just import the xml file now from admincp and I'll be online until you finish your installation .... Or you can PM me and I can install it for you.

1- Fixed the table prefix issue.
2- Fixed a bug in the advanced template editor.

Actually, I executed a search of the database (which mind you, was never touched by this installation script as I dumped it and uploaded the last known good configuration version that I made prior) and guess what: the tables don't exist.

But you know, I went against my judgement about fault and did what you said and imported the XML to finish the installation. Do you know what happened? Database error. The same database error as the first time in fact.

Atop the database error page was this:

Now for the actual database error:

This happens the very moment I import the XML Product after the installer of your newly uploaded version completes.

So now I will spend the five seconds it takes to dump the database again and restore back to the previous configuration.

Considering I'm not the only one having issues with the modification I am going to stand my ground on this one: this modification is clearly bugged and anyone who attempts to install it should ensure they have a good copy of their SQL database like I do.

Restoring your database !!! You don't need to restore your database you just need to un-install the xml file and your forum will not search for the tables, Or just disable the modifications from config.php ..... Just ask us and we will told you what you need to do !!!

Yes, I'm aware and I can completely disable the hooks system and than remove the XML file but it's far better to have a clean slate that you know works.

I will try your newly uploaded file that I didn't see until just now.

However, this thread has had other reported database issues. Why did you think I made sure to have a good copy before installing?

Let's give this one more go.

That's great since you know it, don't restore your database again just remove the xml file

Also No one reported an installation problem of the 9 installed forum, you are the only one who have that issue, that's why I'm still online for you until now :)
