Having an error that I can't resolve in my header
Hey,
I don't know what is causing this but it is obviously something in the code. You can see it in my header at http://www.deuceace.com/new/upload/ There are 2 issues but I know both are linked, there is an image from the menu that is lower than it should be and when you hover over the main menu items you will get a sub-menu - That is also lower than it should be beside the image. I think it is something simple but I just cant find it. Hope someone can help Thanks :) |
I see nothing wrong in the header using firefox
|
If you post your header template code as well as any CSS that you are using for the header I can help.
|
Thanks very much :)
I'm on Firefox and can see the problem, its a red image that is a corner image for the main menu. Header Template Part 1 - Character restriction on vb.org Code:
<script type="text/javascript"> |
Part 2 - Code just continuing from part 1
Code:
<td nowrap><div align="center"><a href="/rakebackpages.php" class="creamlink">Rakeback Pages</a></div></td> |
Part 3:
Code:
<p align="center"><a href="http://www.skypoker.com/poker/sky_lobby?aff=1314" target="_blank"><img border="0" src="/temp/skypoker.gif " width="120" height="60" alt="SkyPoker"></a></p> Thanks again for helping :) Thanks again! |
Can you post a screenshot pointing out what you see also why do you have your site on two different urls
http://www.deuceace.com/forum.php http://www.deuceace.com/new/upload/ You also have some url errors http://www.deuceace.com/arcade.php http://www.deuceace.com/macpoker.php http://www.deuceace.com/advertise.php http://www.deuceace.com/directory http://www.deuceace.com/rakeback.php http://www.deuceace.com/tournaments.php |
Im reverting back to 3.8 - Thats why its in the /new folder - Once I get this and a few other changes made I am moving it into the main directory and it will be the main site - Just working on it right now :)
Once this is fixed I'm hoping to move it tonight as the other problems aren't too difficult to fix Getting a screenshot now |
You should of put the test site behind htaccess file for testing

The outlined should be under the main menu - The text beside the corner image is the text that comes up when hovering over the rakeback section, it should be where the second x is Thank you |

Code:
<a class="whitelink" href="index.php">Home</a> |
Thanks for the reply, sorry but I'm not too sure what you mean.
Do you mean changing the whitelink to creamlink or something different? Just tried that in case you did but it didn't do anything. Thanks again |
Wait for a skin coder to reply as I am not one so maybe they can help more
|
No problem, thank you anyway.
The links you posted above are for the lower menu though ( Home / Register / Profile etc) It is the top menu, ( Forums / Tournaments / Rakeback etc.) that are causing the problem |
Ok wow you have a menu code from what looks like a menu made in Dreamweaver. The header & code is a real mess so there is no wonder its not going back together as it should. :( Really the only way to fix it is to re-splice all the images & recode the header & menu it IMO leaving out the whole Dreamweaver menu and putting in a proper menu that will not cause problems and issues in the skin. There are plenty of free CSS/JavaScript menus that would do exactly what you want this one to do or at least what it is supposed to do.
Do you have the original PSD file for the skin? Did the designer give it to you when you purchased it? If so you may want to try and redo the menu/header and use a different menu system. There are some really nice menus that will do the exact same thing that you want in this header at CSS Library. Are you good with HTML code at all? If so you might be able to fix it yourself just by redoing it. The image in question is in a table by itself which I suspect is either the reason or part of the reason for its dip down from the position it should be. The menu code is kind of spastic and all over the map. :( If you are not good with code you might want to hire someone for this. I do not think this would be a quick ten minute fix to get it to work and function properly in all browsers and for all members etc. |
As far as I can tell your tables are not nested properly in header and navbar templates + many images are missing.
|
I have no idea why the image would be in its own table.. Doesnt make sense.
Unfortunately I dont have the PSD and I can't get in contact with the designer / coder.. Hmmmm. Seven Skins - I do know images are missing - This has been a disaster of a revert - I had to download a complete webpage from archive to get the images, I still have a lot to put in the proper folders - I do have them but just have to change the folder they are in, that's just a small problem that I can easily fix :) The header is the main thing. Thank you so much for looking at it, not too sure what else I can do with it at this stage but I will try :) |

You can send me the style along with images when I get time I will have a look. |
Sorry for the late reply.
Thank you very much, I'd really appreciate it so much :) I will send you a PM with a link to the files. I was wondering where I knew your name from, I bought a skin from your site before, just realised when I went on your link lol, it was quite a while ago though |

Working perfect, can't thank you enough :)
Moving this to the main directory now and I will work on the smaller problems, this site has been down for years so I am really happy to have it back up and running again. Thank you again :) |
