3.8.8 install - Mp3 player problem
 

We done a move to a new server and started all over from scratch using a new full install 3.8.8. The old site was 3.6 but had been upgraded along the way to 3.8

I am using the same mod called attachment mp3 player (amp3) that is no longer supported and I can not find a new mod for this as no one made a new one for the 3.8.8

The player will play the mp3 fine but the box says connecting the whole time the player is playing the song. On the old site it works perfect but not on the new 3.8.8 site.

I am hoping someone can help me figure this problem out so I can fix it.

I thought I was told to post it here. I tell ya Ozzy its very hard to ask things over here cause one really does not know how and where to ask in the right place. I have been a member here for a long time and tell ya the truth it scares me to death to have to ask for help when something happens!! Just where would you like me to post this ?

You would ask in the thread where you downloaded the modification you are using. :)

As stated in my post he is no longer around and it is not supported any longer. All I am asking is if someone here knows how to fix it or maybe someone knows where a new updated mod for 3.8.8 is that I can get. I have searched for 3 days now with no luck what so figured I would take a chance and ask here as there are some really smart people here that might help me.

Please note that if a Modification/Style is unsupported (or even if it says it is supported), you may be on your own if you chose to install it. :)

Still the best place to ask in in the mods thread, as that is where people that use the mod visit any posts about it. :)

And by the way I checked your mods as well yesterday and you don't have one either. It seems no one is making mod for 3.8.8 :-(

No I have not made a player for any vB version.

There are still mods being made for vB3, last year I released 33, and there has been about 56 in total released in the last year. :)

Now I am really confused because I am in "Modification Requests/Questions" and asking a mod question...

Ok cool. Never hurts to ask right? I have tried some of those BB code ones as well but get error's when I update but it say I can do it anyway and it never shows up in a post. Trust me I have racked my brains out over this before I ever asked for help because I know what the outcome will be. Again I have been around a long time and see so many others that ask questions for help to be sent on their merry way empty handed. I will give the link you provided a shot and with hopes it will work this time.

I have one that works really well, it is a BB code. It allows posting of mp3 links to existing files. Is this what you're after?

Thanks but I am looking for one that will play the uploaded attachment mp3's in a post.

These BB code ones the user has to use the brackets in their post and host the mp3 on their own site or where ever.

I have also tried to code some of the VB 4 bb codes to embed the player in temp plate but those all error out because I am using 3.8.8. and not 4 + but it was worth a try.

Mine works for 3.8.8 and in fact, everything down to at least 3.5.

But Yes I see what you're asking for now, doesn't seem like it would be too tough to fix the one you have. Send me a PM with admin credentials for your site and I will be happy to take a look at the plugin.

the one you're using most likely is out of date for this day and age browsers.

if its a MP3 player you are after, just leave out the MP4 code and only use the MP3 part of the code. you'll be fine using this, because ive installed on clients running vb3, vb4, vb5 and xenforo attachments MP3.

p.s, if your not happy with html5 player, i have many flash style players tucked away if you need one.
