[OzzModz] Moderate Reported Posts

Another mod brought to you by,
https://vborg.vbsupport.ru/external/2015/01/1.png

This mod will allow admins to have reported posts sent to the moderation queue after they recieve a specified amount of reports.

It is a simple installation, just import the product XML, ozzmodz_mod_reported

You can edit the options under the settings, [OzzModz] Moderate Reported Posts Settings Settings

Complete Feature List
  • Option to disable the mod completely.
  • Option to set which usergroups when they report a thread/post, and it reaches the specified amount, it gets sent to the moderation queue.
  • Option to set which usergroups when they report a thread/post, it gets seent to the moderation queue, irregardless of the report count.
Things To Note
1) If the poster is a administrator, or a moderator, their thread/post will not go into the moderation queue, unless a admin reports a moderators post.
2) If a reporter that is not in a usergroup that is allowed, the report count is not increased, but they will not see the icon once they report a thread/post.
3) If a user reports a thread/post, they will not see the report icon on that thread/post anymore, but all other users will, this is to prevent abusing the system. But if the post does go into the moderation queue, and is subsequently approved, they will see the report icon again.
4) Once a thread/post is in the moderation queue, and it is approved, the report count starts back off at zero.
5) In order for the removal of the report icon to function properly, you need to have a Post Reporting Discussion Forum set, and no Post Reporting User set. You can find these settings in ACP --> Settings --> Options --> User Infractions & Post Reporting Options.
6) Special thanks to kh99 and Scandal for helping out with some of the queries. https://vborg.vbsupport.ru/external/2015/01/19.png

Frequently Asked Questions.

Q. Why do I need such a thing, you ask?

A. Some admins might like to have threads/posts go into the moderation queue after a specified amount of reports.

Q. Why is the usergroup settings in a list form and not check boxes like you usually do?

A. I am trying out a different way, as to avoid vB being fussy about the check boxes in the settings.

What does 'Marking As Installed' do ?

* It helps you to stay on top of updates - members who have installed modifications will be notified whenever new updates are available.

* For security issues - vbulletin.org will contact all members who have installed a modification whenever a security issue is brought to their attention.

* Marking a modification as installed also helps me know how many people are using my work, giving me extra incentive to provide more features and new modifications.

I appreciate the support!

Could you check it to make sure it is not causing any problems? I disabled it on my forum and stopped getting the database errors.

ozzy47 12-29-2014 10:31 AM

If you could, PM me a full admin account, and I can try to debug it on your site later today when I get home from work.

ozzy47 12-29-2014 11:34 AM

Up to you, I don't need access anymore as I have fixed the issue. :)

Does this work with the normal report post button? So the user can still type in some text on why they are reporting it? I have it installed but don't see any other icon but the normal report button.

ozzy47 01-03-2015 11:53 PM

Correct, this uses the normal reporting feature. :)

huskermax 01-04-2015 12:01 AM

OK, I have:

Quote:

5) In order for the removal of the report icon to function properly, you need to have a Post Reporting Discussion Forum set, and no Post Reporting User set. You can find these settings in ACP --> Settings --> Options --> User Infractions & Post Reporting Options.
this set.

I have it set to admin only to test. I reported a post from a test thread and it did show up on my mod only board but it did not send the post in to moderation. I have it set that admins can report posts with out votes for now.

huskermax 01-04-2015 12:04 AM

Does the Moderate Posts need to be turned on on each board I want this to run? If turned on it will only send posts reported in to mod not all new posts?

ozzy47 01-04-2015 12:09 AM

If the post you tried to report is made by a admin account, it will not count in this mod. Make a post using a test user. Then report the post as another test user.

This will send any post that reaches the specified amount into moderation.

It works! This is out standing! Thanks for doing this!

One thing you could add is when the thread (if first post) or post shows up in the mod only board or the reported posts board it shows that this is a post/thread awaiting moderation.

Currently my mods would have to log in to there settings or log in to the mod board to see them. There is no notification they get that posts/threads are awaiting moderation.

I do plan on testing this mod with yours to see if the notifications your mod creates will show up.

Thanks again for doing this an so quick after my thread! I have it marked as installed and I 5 stared it.

FYI, I don't see the mod of the month link?

ozzy47 01-04-2015 12:51 AM

You don't see the nomination link, because the mod is already up for MOTM voting, https://vborg.vbsupport.ru/showthread.php?t=316345

ozzy47 01-04-2015 01:00 AM

Thanks for the vote. :)

gsmlover4u 01-28-2015 04:29 PM

is there any Nofication mod for moderation post and thread for mods and admin ?

ozzy47 01-28-2015 05:17 PM

Nope, as you already should be getting a reported post notice when it's reported.

McGyver 01-30-2015 05:20 AM

That's a great mod to increase user involvement in a forum.
Many thanks Ozzy!!!

I think it would be greatly complemented by something like FractalizeR's "Show items, awaiting moderation in notifications area" right within this mod...

ozzy47 01-30-2015 08:57 AM

Don't forget to mark as installed.

As soon as it exits our UAT environment and goes Live, it will of course be marked :).
