Problem uploading template
Hello there.
I am currently facing some issues while trying to change the default style of my vBulletin 4.2.2 forum. The theme I want to display (see image 2) does not appear on the drop down list (see image 1). How can I fix this ? Thank you in advance for your replies. image 1: http://zupimages.net/up/14/49/rixw.png image 2: http://zupimages.net/viewer.php?id=14/49/sgeb.png |
Can you just provide links to the images? they're too huge to view.

I don't know if it will help but try changing the style name from Arabic/Urdu to English.
If it works then you will know where the problem is. |
thank you for your reply ...
I changed the style names to English, but the problem is still there. More, when I want to install a new style, he moved to the second list, which is for mobile styles. In other words I can not create standard styles I can only create mobile styles --------------- Added [DATE]1417633431[/DATE] at [TIME]1417633431[/TIME] --------------- Could any one help please does Vbulletin give support for this kind of problem ? thank you. |
Possibly you are not installing the skin correctly. How are you installing the skin exactly? If you need to install a skin follow these directions:
1. Upload the images to the proper place via FTP. Usually most skins will have that info on where to upload them to in the documentation. 2. Log to your AdminCP and then scroll down to Styles & Templates>Download/Upload Styles. 3. Find "Import Style XML File" in the second box and then click the Browse button and choose the skin xml file that came with the skin. Click the open button in the new window after you found the xml. 4. Give your skin a title in the field marked "Title for Uploaded Style". 5. Now click Import. This should install your skin completely. |
Where are these styles from, did you download them from here?
Have you tried to reproduce the issues with a style from here? |

and if I try to choose one of my old standard styles as a default styl it gives me no choice, it only displays mobile style (see image http://www.zupimages.net/viewer.php?id=14/49/rixw.png) how can I restore a default standard style ? |
Do you have the default style & other regular styles listed in the Styles & Templates area? Do they show there? Make sure that if those styles are there that you tick the box next to the ones you want members to be able to see.

1/ I tried using "tools.php" to restore defaults styles ... but I found myself with all the styles becoming for mobile. 2/ I tried reinstalling the default style "vbulletin-style.xml" but also it comes in the second list with mobile styles(!!) and looks like mobile styles. 3/ I finally added to the "style" table of the forum database a new style as defaults style : "styleid = 1" and I've copied the other informations from a new forum database... and I find a blank page when I try to open the forum with the styleid=1. please help. thank you. |
Can you execute this query and post the results?
Code:
SELECT styleid,title,parentid,parentlist,userselect,displayorder,dateline,type FROM style |
thanks for reply...
I've removed the style that I created in the database and I also removed other styles. Hmm...I thought that might be a good way to see what was going on, but I'm ot sure how to interpret it. The thing that seems strange to me is that style default2 has both -1 and -2 in the parent list, but I tried doing that in my style table and it didn't make any difference.
If you create a new style in the style manager as the child of the non-mobile default, does that work (does it show up in the non-mobile list)? |
Did you create child styles of the original default skin that came with vBulletin and then delete the original default skin and keep the child skins? That maybe a cause of this if you did. Not sure how to fix it though. That would something that for me anyways is easier if I'm in the panel trying to figure it out. The php coders though may know an easier way to fix that if that is the case.
