What are the advantages/disadvantages of using your version over nhawks version, Postbit Collapser/Arranger ?

I have been asked numerous times about the one I use on my site as people like it so I decided to release a mod that is similar to the one I use.

At the moment, there is probably no advantages/disadvantages but possibly in the future I may add more options to the mod. I know nhawk (Snog) has switched to XenForo so I wasn't sure if he would keep developing for vB.

ozzy47 11-21-2014 10:13 AM

Gotcha, I have done many mods for the same reason, to ensure their continued support and development. :)

Exaclty. If nhawk's mod was listed as "re-useable", I may have updated it in the future but I had to make it from scratch to allow vB owners to install something that would be developed for future versions and give support where needed.

Do you have the mod installed and enabled? Also, can you check your postbit_legacy template. It may be that your template has been modified and it's preventing the mod from working.

v1.0.1 (24 November, 2014)
- Bug Fixes.

Firyou 11-26-2014 07:34 PM

This breaks the entire post field on 4.2.0 pl4. The mod works, but everything is unreadable.

You really should upgrade to 4.2.2 at a minimum, there is unpatched security issues in versions below that.

OK, thanks. I will need to install a 4.2 test forum and fix this for you.

MistViper 03-01-2015 06:56 AM

I have a odd bug in some topics and not in others.

For more info see this:

https://vborg.vbsupport.ru/showthread.php?t=317567

I have the thank you hack installed but not sure that an other plugin is causing it.

I know 100% its not theme related as it even happens on the default theme.

Its jquery related.

Black Snow 03-01-2015 08:11 AM

Can you disabled the country flags mod and see if it still happens?

MistViper 03-01-2015 08:29 AM

Done, and that didn't change the bug form occurring. Can I add it back for now?

ps; by disable do you mean remove the coded I added in your file or disable the mod in acp?

I just noticed that in the first post of a topic the collapse doesn't work.

What if we didn't use jquery but instead use your method here;

https://vborg.vbsupport.ru/showthread.php?t=310807

Also this keeps getting more odd but here it works

http://mistviper.com/forum/showthrea...=2963#post2963

But if you go to the first page of that topic it doesn't.

Some character could be the cause here right?

Black Snow 03-01-2015 10:25 AM

It could be due to jQuety already being loaded on the page. I see you have a collapse on the thanks section on your forum. Disable the collapse on the thanks bit and seenif it works.

That fixed it!

BT7 03-01-2015 12:14 PM

Thanks for this. downloading now and will install very soon.

Cheers

MistViper 03-08-2015 11:15 AM

This mod causes my mobile themes not to work. Just noticed its caused by this mod.

There is no postbit and can't view pms.

Any way to fix that, that it ignores mobile themes and doesn't replace or alter the postbit on there?

Cla75 03-08-2015 11:54 AM

If I install this mod, all forums are completely empty.
Display some pages with header, navbar post but do not exist.
If I turn off the mod everything returns to normal.

I haven't had that issue with any of the testing thats been carried out on the mod.

Again, this mod does not do anything on the forum display pages. Its only on postbit.

stained 03-09-2015 10:53 AM

Thanks for this mod. When I click to expand I get the following:

https://vborg.vbsupport.ru/external/2015/03/17.jpg

This isn't down to any failing of your mod of course but would you be able to give me any pointers as to how to solve it? I have everything wrapped in a conditional to prevent guests from seeing the user details and a couple of the fields aren't there with your mod installed. Thanks.

As for the weird code, see this: https://vborg.vbsupport.ru/showpost....5&postcount=21

It is caused by a jquery conflict. I am working on a bug fix for it to prevent this happening.

stained 03-09-2015 11:17 AM

Excellent. Thanks very much!

1. Why this option? Enable or disable to addon.
2. Why only in first post?
3. Why only in these forums?
4. Why only these threads?
5. What bars?
6. I don't see why you would only want some usergroups to be able to colapse/expand.
7. I can do this, but don't see why.

Some styles may or may not show all info there, some are very clean/crisp/ or well how to say this... some folks want a certain style to shine over others OR they simply as the owner prefer that style and may or may not want info collapsed or not. That's the way I thought of it at least, dunno though guess we wait for OP to reply ;).

Hmm, I get what you are saying TLS, but why would you install this mod if you wanted the info on show? This is simply to reduce the length of the postbit userinfo section if you have a lot of fields on show.

TheLastSuperman 03-09-2015 10:27 PM

^ Ohh I meant to say that, they want to disable or enable that part of your mod in one specific style only but all other styles (if more than one installed w/ ability for users to switch) show it the other way.

Black Snow 03-09-2015 10:30 PM

Ahh, gotcha now! So, if they had 2 styles installed and only wanted it to run on 1 style, then a "disable on X style" would be handy. I'll get right on it and add it into the next update. I have already added a few new options to the next update.

TheLastSuperman 03-09-2015 10:38 PM

Yep Yep pretty much, everyone is different and as the saying goes "Different strokes for different folks".

Many thanks for the update. This has fixed the problem I was having a few posts back

Just one question: I have the vbseo likes given and received listed in my postbit (this mod). How do I get your mod to pick those up and display them? I looked at your xml but it's beyond my "talents" to incorporate the vbseo stuff myself.

These are the two calls that need to be picked up: {vb:raw post.vbseo_likes_in} and {vb:raw post.vbseo_likes_out}

Thanks for any assistance you can give.

You can add those two calls to the vbm_expanding_userinfo template under "posts" or similar. The template has all the hook locations so vbseo should be able to display in it if they have included a call in their plugins.

EDIT: I see its a template edit mod you are referring to. Just add those 2 calls into the template i mentioned above.

stained 03-10-2015 11:40 AM

Working perfectly now. Many thanks!
