AdminCP logs me back into login page?
Hey everyone, I just noticed a problem on ALL of my forums. I run about 8 different forums, half on one hosting account, half on another. But all on the same host.
I just noticed today that when I try to login to my AdminCP, on ANY of my forums, that it redirects me back to the AdminCP login screen. It's not saying my password doesnt work, it just redirects to the login screen again. I cant get into ANY of my forums AdminCPs. Any idea what is happening? I didnt make any changes at all to any of my forums. Please help! |
check htaccess file if you cant see a problem download it to your desktop then delete it then try admincp if that does not work disable all plugins via config
To temporarily disable the plugin system, edit includes/config.php and add this line right under <?php PHP Code:
PHP Code:
also edit htacess file with notepad ++ If you are not sure about your htaccess file then upload it here so someone can have a look at it |
What exactly am I looking for in the htaccess file? I really dont know much about this stuff.
Thanks! |
upload it here
|
It's blank.
On my laptop, through IE, I can login to the forum with no problem and stay logged in, but can't login to the AdminCP. If I use FF, I can't login to the forums at all.. just keeps me logged out. Same with my phone. wtf? |
Link to your site please and I will make you one see if that helps also tell me what url do you have set in admincp/settings/options/Site Name / URL / Contact Details/Forum URL
|
This is so weird. I had a tech guy from my host login to the AdminCP with no problem. I disconnected from wifi on my phone (my home network), and I was able to login.
So it seems its just my home IP. I've tried it on three different devices.. two laptops and my phone, all using my home IP, and it wont let me login to the AdminCP. How is this possible that I cant login to my AdminCP from MY IP only? |
Can I ask where you host your forums? I have similar (but different) problem all of the sudden, and I haven't changed anything. My site is on shared hosting at hostgator.

I just noticed that after trying to login to the AdminCP, and it directs back to the login page again, that if I refresh the screen once or twice, it will automatically send me into the AdminCP! Does that on all of my forums. Ok, now that I can get in, I noticed that some things are not working. For instance, if I prune some users (usually spam accounts), that it wont delete them. It will act like it did, but if I go back in, those users are still there. |
You might of been hacked I have seen this problem before and have fixed it pm me your skype info
Edit: Still no pm going to bed |
What makes you think that?
Thanks |

Hmm, thats strange. If it is HostGator, I wonder what they could have done to make this happen?
|
Updated apache or something. I'm putting in a support ticket now.
|
Awesome, please let me know if you find anything out, I'd appreciate it.
I just tried removing the 'index.php' from the address like you did and then it works. Weird. |
Ok. Ticket submitted. You might want to do the same. You could mostly just copy/paste what you posted here. I'm not getting the same problem now on the forum side, just the admin. But I changed it to no-cached headers, so that may be why the forum side is working now.

It sounds like you're blocked by the firewall, you should flush your blocked ip's and flush the brute force login tables.

What vB version and what PHP version are you running?
|
VB 3.8.4. Not sure on the php version.
I'm also noticing that none of the forums are updating/refreshing. I came back on today after sleeping 6 hours, and all the time stamps were still from last night before I went to bed. Seems all my members are now seeing the same problems. I think it HAS to be something the host did. Would upgrading Apache cause this? --------------- Added [DATE]1415908171[/DATE] at [TIME]1415908171[/TIME] --------------- Yep, others having same issue.. http://forums.hostgator.com/cach-issues-t328761.html |
On hostgator myself and don't have this problem maybe you are just unlucky and it is the hosts problem
|
Mine is still messed up. No response to ticket yet.
--------------- Added [DATE]1415946771[/DATE] at [TIME]1415946771[/TIME] --------------- 21 hours and no response from hostgator. Man have they gone downhill over the years. --------------- Added [DATE]1415948534[/DATE] at [TIME]1415948534[/TIME] --------------- Ok, I did get a hold of support and the issue seems to be resolved now. |
Yea I think mine has finally been fixed over the past 2 hours or so. Never did get a response from support though. Sad.
|
support has always been good for me but i use the live support option even know they make you wait for 30 mins or more. But yes I agree support has gone downhill
