Ozzy47 is now vBorg's top developer!

He has more mods released here than anyone. Really cool.

Hats off to ya Pally. Lots of hours of frustrating and tedious work, all for free, to serve the community.

You're a good egg.

ozzy47 11-06-2014 01:33 AM

Thanks, I am trying to keep people interested in this software platform. :)

Max Taxable 11-06-2014 01:33 AM

Selfless service by people like you is what sets vBulletin apart.

Dave 11-06-2014 07:52 AM

I have a lot of respect for him, but top developer?
He mostly released small mods which can not be compared to the big mods released by DBTech and Valter.

Regardless, keep up the good work with your mods, it surely helps people out. :)

ozzy47 11-06-2014 09:29 AM

Yeah top developer may not be the right term, as I am technically 5th in the developers list. :)

RichieBoy67 11-06-2014 02:29 PM

Great work bro! I cannot even count how many of your mods I've used!

Lynne 11-06-2014 07:42 PM

Good going!

In regards to some of them just being 'small' mods.... some of us forget that some of the admins here couldn't code a single line of code if their life depended on it! So, these small mods are very important to many of those admins.

Exactly Lynne, small, big or super duper big, these mods that Ozz puts out are helpful for those who need them ... I know my way around but I couldn't code a fraction of the stuff Ozzy puts out for us and that to "ME" is more than enough to agree that he is "Top Dogg" in this yard hands down ... Not only does he put together these mods for free, he supports them and maintains them better than any other mod dev out there "right now" and on top of that he provides support for the mods of other devs for free !!!

I am one of those "Admins" that appreciates Ozzy's mods, support, guidance and help .... So thank you Ozzy and you deserve the "Top Developer's" tittle here at vBorg.com !!!!! Way to kick some tail my Man !!!!

I don't want to rain on the parade, and I have no doubt Ozzy will get there soon, but VB.org has a top coder list and it's still Valter - https://vborg.vbsupport.ru/showgroups.php?show=coders

Yeah Joe, as I said in post #5

Of course I am aware of that. And I am also aware as are you, that sensationalized thread titles get attention! :D

Really cool. But of course that is not the only designator for "top developer."

Nelson58 11-09-2014 01:21 AM

Even a very small mod can really be an excellent addition for the webmaster of a forum. I can think of a few examples of mods that really help me run the site.

napy8gen 11-10-2014 06:59 AM

I think when the plugin system is back in vb5, then vbulletin can attract more people to vb5 rather than vb4. People like Ozzy47 and BirdoPrey5 can extend more.

TheLastSuperman 11-10-2014 05:03 PM

Sometimes helping by just posting a reply (answer) to something someone is looking for is just as helpful as a full-fledged modification to others.

Not many realize that while myself and the other mods/admins are not on here, I still see Ozzy on here and I sneak in often (I never use invisible mode I mean as a guest browsing) and see him replying more so than others so three words come to mind when I see that:

"Thank"
"You"
"Bravo"

That is all ;).

JacquiiDesigns 11-11-2014 01:29 AM

May not be *Top* developer - but even making it into the developers list top 5 is an amazing accomplishment! Congrats Chris https://vborg.vbsupport.ru/external/2016/11/8.gif

J.

Paul M 11-11-2014 12:28 PM

He is certainly one of the most active currently - along with Dragonbyte.

socialteenz 11-11-2014 03:58 PM

Congrats oZzy47, IMO you're the last person trying to save the sinking vb ship :P

Jokes Apart, nice achievement Chris.

Brad Padgett 11-13-2014 03:34 AM

Congratulations on your achievement. Thanks.

ozzy47 11-23-2014 11:47 PM

Thanks to everyone for the kind words. :)

Black Snow 11-24-2014 10:05 AM

What is coder level 1, 2, 3 etc? What are the requirements for each level?

ozzy47 11-24-2014 10:14 AM

Well, not really the place to ask this, but it is based on a number of things.

1) Mods released.
2) Number of installs.
3) Times downloaded.
4) User rating.
5) MOTM wins.

And some other factors as well

EasyEazy 11-28-2014 04:31 PM

Ozzy is a great asset to the VB community. Helped me no end the last few days. Keep up the good work pal.

ozzy47 11-28-2014 04:34 PM

Thanks, I was just glad I was able to sort the issues you were having on the site. :)

kapii 11-29-2014 11:34 AM

Yes he is a pretty good Joe, he has helped me out quite a few times over the years. He not only supports his mods, but when he is able to, he helps fixes issues with other developers mods.

The best part of it all, is he does this without expectation of pay, but I do of course throw him a donation for his time. I have known him to spend hours and hours fixing stuff on peoples sites, and is just happy when it is fixed.

Truly a awesome dude. :)

ozzy47 11-29-2014 12:00 PM

Thanks for the kind words. :)

Phillip 11-29-2014 12:21 PM

I have to admit, but yes ozzy47 is a good developer so far that I see on here. :)

ozzy47 11-29-2014 01:48 PM

Thanks. :)

No problem, you take it easy at some point. :p

ozzy47 11-29-2014 02:13 PM

I take it as easy as I can, providing support for my mods, and helping out people where I can. :)

Sounds like something I need to do for people as well. I'm thinking of making some pretty useful mods soon.

ozzy47 11-29-2014 02:56 PM

Yeah there is still some mods that could be made. Only problem is user activity has drastically reduced on this site in the past few years.

Not as many developers making mods. Not as many users getting mods.

Take for instance MOTM voting:
Oct 2010 186 people voted.
Oct 2011 134 people voted.
Oct 2012 48 people voted.
Oct 2013 35 people voted.
Oct 2014 43 people voted.

So as you can see there is a significant drop in participation there.

Seven Skins 11-29-2014 03:04 PM

Nice!! Well done :)

ozzy47 11-29-2014 03:04 PM

Thanks. :)
