Can you explain how exactly this is SEO friendly? Why wouldn't a SE consider this cloaking assuming it could be detected? (I'm aware that a lot of popular news and blog sites do something similar)

A couple suggestions that may make things more robust:
- option to unlock all locked content after a social share action
- option to lock content after viewing X number of pages

The Plugin is SEO friendly because it doesn't lock content for search engines .. search engines can see the content normally and can index it .. thanks for the suggestions and they will be considered

1. Option to unlock all locked content if member have X post (Option Based On Post Count)
2. Option to automatically hide threads content in selected forums (without using LOCK BB code)
3. Option to unlock all locked content after a social share action.
4. Option to lock content after viewing X number of pages/thread

These 3 options are planned + option to automatically hide attachments

As the mod does NOT offer to affect all posts or a group of posts automatically and requires that you manually enter [LOCK] and [/LOCK] before and after content that you wish to hide till click in every single post, I am trying to find a way to concatenate the pagetext in post in order to add the LOCK tag to every FIRST post of every topic.

I would appreciate your help fixing this one line.

UPDATE post SET pagetext =CONCAT('[lock]', pagetext,'[/lock]') WHERE postid =(Select firstpostid from dbname_vb.thread) ;

But when I try the substatement,
SELECT post WHERE postid =(Select firstpostid from dbname_vb.thread)
I get :
#1242 - Subquery returns more than 1 row
it must look in the thread table, where there are thousands of rows...

Google won't appreciate the content of the post being readable to it in the source of the page but not displayed to human.

Was that called "User Specific Content"? Does anyone remember how this was done?
You give to Google a username and a password and you allow it to search your vbulletin forums as if it were a registered user.

This is strongly not recommended .. there is an update this week that will allow you to automatically lock all threads in selected forums .. but it will only lock threads .. not posts .. are you sure you want to lock posts ?

why ?
we can hide the content and unlock it by ajax but in this case search engines will not be able to archive the content .. when Google visits the page it is a normal page with unlocked content .. I don't think social share/like action is such expensive to hide content after strict security .. and it is completely search engine friendly

i tested all of free options...
but addon didnt lock...

Yes and they can see that it is HIDDEN from the users before they click, and this is to my knowledge black hat.

I will be pleased if you gave me chance to troubleshoot that ..

Well , I don't think this is true .. but I can Disable the locker completely if search engine bot is detected ( I will do that if necessary ).

That Is Interesting Option to LOCK Every First post only, If LOCK Every First post Option set to NO, Then lock threads, not posts.

I'd strongly encourage something different.
I am sure that giving to the search engine content that users cannot see is back hat seo. This is called CLOACKING, and is definitely a pagerank killer.
