Amazon Associates Links by ForumSetup.net

1 Attachment(s)
Amazon Associates Links will automatically rewrite links (on the fly) to Amazon.com/.ca/.co.uk with your ID. Existing links that you've created will not be overwritten and any special linking parameters will be maintained.

There are several options:
  • Turn the whole mod on/off
  • Different ID's for amazon.com .ca .co.uk .de
  • Exclude certain usergroups
  • Include/Exclude specific forums
  • Exclude specific styles
  • Rewrite links in PM's
  • Keep or overwrite links that already have other Associates ID's in them

Installation:
  • Unzip the package
  • upload functions_amazon_links.php to your includes directory
  • Install the product XML
  • Navigate to Settings > Options > Amazon Associates Links to set your ID and other options

Enjoy!

No, it only changes links to Amazon, and does not contact Amazon servers to do so.

ozzy47 10-02-2014 10:55 PM

Cool. :)

Yes, and yes. These would be simple additions. I'll add both to the next version.

I got a message from Amazon that said they don't allow forum sites to be in the program. I guess after my first referral they reviewed my pending application and kicked my out of the program. Told me to re-apply if I had a different type of site.

I call BS on Amazon. I referred someone who made a purchase, yet I don't make any commission, and they closed my affiliates account.

Majora 06-22-2015 09:33 AM

Is this possible for amazon.de now?

BorjaECI 09-16-2015 03:10 PM

Work in Amazon.es?

Thanks.

rinkrat 09-17-2015 03:09 AM

Love this! Thanks so much!

If you have more than one Amazon Associates ID, e.g., for amazon.com and amazon.ca, how does this determine which ID to add to the link?

MikesSite 07-01-2016 11:33 PM

This doesn't work on 4.2.3

Actually it works fine, but Amazon now uses https by default, and this script doesn't detect https.

You can fix it by changing the regex in functions_amazon_links.php

on lines 22, 27, 51, find:
Code:

http:\/
replace:
Code:

https?:\/

This will support both http and https amazon links.

is anyone using this mod with success? i do worry about Tommy's post about forums not being allowed in the program

I've never heard of Amazon not allowing forums.

BadgerDog 01-03-2017 02:25 PM

I'll be looking to add this soon.

Outlaw Mantis 02-20-2017 12:05 AM

This is kinda embarrassing, but how am I supposed to know if the tracking has gone through? I entered all the IDs correctly. Also, I've used the eBay plugin and it changed the URL on the final link so I know that works. But on this the URL appears to stay the same. Should I worry? Thanks.

5noopz 02-21-2017 03:54 PM

I marked this plugin as installed.

But it won't work, still the same links, not with my ID.
