What does 'Marking As Installed' do ?

* It helps you to stay on top of updates - members who have installed modifications will be notified whenever new updates are available.

* For security issues - vbulletin.org will contact all members who have installed a modification whenever a security issue is brought to their attention.

* Marking a modification as installed also helps me know how many people are using my work, giving me extra incentive to provide more features and new modifications.

Don't forget to mark as installed if you are going to use it. :)

Yes makes it easy to customize color for the style. But, it's global, might not be great with all styles.

ozzy47 09-13-2014 08:42 PM

It it's not global, each style has their own stylevar that can be changed.

Got'cha.

It made a global change for me on all styles because I changed the stylevar in the parent style, and all other styles are child of that style.

But I see I can still change them individually too.

ozzy47 09-13-2014 09:05 PM

Yepper. :)

CAG CheechDogg 09-13-2014 10:56 PM

OUTL4W 09-14-2014 01:51 AM

just asking...I know it says 4.x.x but would this work on 3.8.7 also?

ozzy47 09-14-2014 02:05 AM

No, if it had, I would have released a vB3 version. :)

Installed, works fine.

Not too sure what to edit in the stylevar. Possibly I'm looking at the wrong thing. Could you give me a screen shot of what I should be seeing and what to change?

Thanks.

ozzy47 10-11-2014 09:14 AM

Glad you like it, and thanks for marking as installed. Attached is the screenshot.

Either I'm doing something wrong or there is something wrong with my system.

When I try to edit the stylevar (see attachment)

I get this error:

Parse error: syntax error, unexpected $end in /home/XXXXXX/public_html/vb4/admincp/stylevar.php on line 1587

Not your problem, I know, but if you have any ideas I'd appreciate your advice.

ozzy47 10-12-2014 12:01 AM

Do you get that error editing any other stylevars?

gajinoz 10-12-2014 03:36 AM

That error happens as soon as I try to open the editor. In the screen shot you can see where I try to open it, (clicking on the go button). Soon as I do that the error happens.

Open that file using Notepad++ and see what's on the line indicated. Paste it here.

ozzy47 10-12-2014 08:57 AM

Actually 10 lines before and after that line number, so c/p lines 1577 through 1597

gajinoz 10-12-2014 10:29 PM

OK guys, here is 1574 to the end of the file 1586. Line 1587 appears to be blank.

print_form_header('stylevar', 'dorevertall');
print_table_header($vbphrase['revert_all_stylevars']);
print_description_row("
<blockquote><br />
" . construct_phrase($vbphrase["revert_all_stylevars_from_style_x"], $style['title'], $stylevarlist) . "
<br /></blockquote>
");
construct_hidden_code('dostyleid', $style['styleid']);
print_submit_row($vbphrase['yes'], 0, 2, $vbphrase['no']);
}
}
else
{

Thanks for your help.

gajinoz 10-12-2014 10:42 PM

Hmmmmm.... this is interesting, I just looked at the original file and it has this from line 1587 on:

---------------------------------

print_stop_message('invalid_style_specified');
}
}

print_cp_footer();

---------------------------

I have no idea why it would be missing from the currently active one!

Should I simply copy this stuff over and see how it goes, or might that cause other problems?

ozzy47 10-12-2014 10:50 PM

I would download a copy of the version you are running from vB.com, and upload admincp/stylevar.php and see what happens.

Yep, overwrite the file from the original.

gajinoz 10-12-2014 11:08 PM

OK, great work guys, that seems to have fixed it. No idea how the file got corrupted, I've never fiddled with it.

Thanks very much for your help, greatly appreciated. :up:

ozzy47 10-12-2014 11:09 PM

Glad to hear it is sorted, and thanks for reporting back. :)

gajinoz 10-12-2014 11:12 PM

Update: Successfully changed colour.

JacobSuth 11-02-2014 06:14 AM

Seems like it's not working for me which is odd tried disabling every other plugin and still.

ozzy47 11-02-2014 06:47 AM

Does it work on a unmodified default style?

After testing it yeah it does, so I guess I am crap outta luck with my custom style.

ozzy47 11-04-2014 09:08 AM

Well if you pm me a admin account, I can try and see what the issue may be.
