IIRC, vBulletin 3.8.7 and lower will not work with PHP 5.4.0 or higher.

Paul M 08-05-2014 10:16 PM

No, it is not.

dutchbb 08-06-2014 08:28 AM

So 5.3 will be ok right? Thanks.

Paul M 08-06-2014 10:51 AM

Yes, 3.8.7 will work with php 5.3.

3.8.8 was updated for php 5.4, 3.8.9 for php 5.5

dutchbb 08-10-2014 07:04 AM

Thanks. I can only see "Download Latest Version 3.8.8" in the vB member area.

edit: oh it's in beta I see.

Lynne 08-10-2014 03:48 PM

3.8.8 is not in beta

3.8.9 is in beta, but the only changes made to it since 3.8.8 are to make it compatible with PHP5.5. It should be fine to run on a site.

Paul M 08-10-2014 07:18 PM

I have a test 3.8.9 site running happily on php 5.6

Thanks to the vB staff for going ahead and updating vB3. Who ever decided to make 3.8.9 gets thumbs up from me! :)

Now if only there was a thumbs up button. Since I already gave you a LIKE in another post :p

But, thanks for updating it for the rest of the 3.8 users :)

dutchbb 08-18-2014 03:54 PM

I just upgraded to 3.8.9, no problems so far except one. With every word with a trema in it, the character where the trema is applied is removed. This happened exactly after the upgrade.

Example: röntgen becomes rntgen.

ozzy47 08-18-2014 03:56 PM

You should report that in JIRA, so it can get fixed.

Do you have a link for me? Edit: nvm it's the tracker.

Paul M 08-19-2014 12:44 PM

I suspect thats probably this ;
