hit here is there a hack out there that will tell me how long a person has spent in total on my board, im sure ive seen one somewhere and it was under where the user title and post count is.
ie user has been on the board a total of 6hrs 20mins or 45days 6 hrs etc etc hope somebody can help me |
I have never seen a hack or addon released with this..
but I was actually going to do this for my site.. where it shows how long a user has been on.. for that amount of time before they log off.. and then it would keep track of a total amount of time they have spent on my site.. kind of curious about a few members of my board... seems they either are really bored and sit on it all day.. or what.. dunno.. will find out :) |
great stuff, i think a lot of peeps would put this one into use, you can seperate the anoraks from the board addicts!!
hope ya can sort it matey id do it myself but i cant get my head round all the brackets n stuff!! :) |
i'd be interested in this
ive got this one guy who has gotta be on at least 20 hours a day :) |
The new feature known as /online.php is already in place to provide
the recording mechanism the time they came on, where they went, what they viewed, and what they posted. |
very nice, i would be interested in this as well
good luck :) |

You'd have to do some modifications to sessions.php i would guess .... or have some sort of counter file included in your phpinclude template (sort of like the vbstats hack has) |
you can actually do a lot.. if you have the know how with coding.. lol I don't :)
See with the online.php file it tracks what they are doing for the most part and where they are.. not really for how long or anything. I mean I do believe it puts a timestamp on their last activity.. like replying or viewing a page.. but it pretty much ends there. I am sure you can add a function, and a couple of fields in the user table.. and it can track current online time, and total online time for ya.. |
you can find your answers here:
http://www.vbulletin.com/forum/showt...threadid=23527 and then if you add the result you get the total online. hope this helps |

Yes it would seem quite hard, as it only logs when they came on, you would have to record the time they came on for that session then when they leave add it to their time online. The point is, it would be hard to make it add it, the simpliest way i guess would just to measure the time the session is active.
