I took a quick look at the code. At the moment only admins could add keywords and decsription (usergroup 6) and do it manually.

It would be great if we could set usergroups allowed to do this in settings, so we can easily allow for example moderators and supermoderators to do this also. Especially as it is manual task.

And automatically populating information from thread name and content would be especially welocme.

Hello Alan,

You're correct, Let me add some of your suggestions in our next version (After a week or so)

1- Usergroups permissions : Added to our next version todo
2- Automatically populating information : Please provide us with some more information about your idea, Looks like a good idea but we need more information about it :)

Alan_SP 07-18-2014 12:08 PM

Well, I think that DBSEO has automatic populating of these informations.

But, I probably would choose to use most frequent words which doesn't fall in category of being too common. Probably with ability to have white and black lists of words. This really need help for more experienced coders who know how to automate language parsing and sifting important information from it.

Probably it never would achieve Google algorithms' strength for text processing. :D

lapiervb 07-18-2014 01:24 PM

Does this mod slow page load time?

I don't know what's the DBSEO features however I think DBSEO does what vBSEO was do with the meta description (Known as dynamic meta description) nothing new.

The new is (What will be in vBRewrite), Meta description has a text limit (Currently pixel technology) and that's what we are going to do in vBRewrite, We will use the meta description and keywords by pixel width in SERP

And it's already in our road map, But for vBulletin 5 first (I think) :)

Never, As we don't generate the data in the fly, Everything stored and grabbed from the database. Nothing effect your page load time :)

lapiervb 07-19-2014 02:17 PM

Is this plug and play and there is nothing you need to do once installed? I do not see any of the things shown in the pictured examples.

Alan_SP 07-19-2014 09:15 PM

At the moment, after you install it, you need to enter desired keywords and descriptions for each thread manually. It only could be done if you're member of usergroup 6 (admins).

Just make sure you are doing the exact installation steps :

1- Download the attachments
2- Extract it's content
3- Upload all of the "upload" folder files to your vBulletin installation path
4- Import the xml file from your admincp

Now, You should be able to see the on page SEO button above the new reply button.

Please let me know if you are still experiencing the same issue, Maybe a modifications conflict.

Please try to re-upload all the files again, For sure there's a reason which made it not working.

Why :D

What's the error message .... etc, I need some more information about the problem :)

lapiervb 07-23-2014 02:10 AM

So I have it working however regardless if the usergroup all members can see the "on page SEO" tab. Shouldn't only admins see this?

Edit:

Using vBSEO for"meta keywords" your mod add the new keys, after the first 7 words assigned by vBSEO :)

Using DBSEO PRO for "meta keywords" your mod work

I never tested it with any SEO plugin, Please PM me with a temporary admincp and ftp access.

final kaoss 07-25-2014 03:42 AM

You should probably change your mod name as there was already a mod called vbrewrite.
https://vborg.vbsupport.ru/forumdisplay.php?f=182

Do you have permission to be using that name?

are you kidding? i think you should test your mod with all SEO plugin before to post here !

is obvious that all people interested in your mod, have some plugin installed in your forums! otherwise they would not be interested in your MOD.

I agree the mod is too beta and should not be posted here, I never could get it to save keywords nor would it allow me to edit the meta phrase.

All SEO mods !! I don't think so :)
One of them is discontinued and the second is paid and still in development !!! So possible conflicts could be happen.

No one will try his mod with most of the vBulletin modification to find the conflicts before publishing it. The conflicts will be discovered due to the different modifications in your forum and the different forum and server environment in general.
