Some folks are just way to serious. Lighten up, the reason we celebrate the 4th is because of our independence from the brits.

This has become so silly I'm not even going to address it anymore. As I said before, lighten up. This is ridiculous.

Before I go off on you and say something that may offend others, I will only say to you, God bless you Sir for giving me an excuse to be even more patriotic on our 4th of July each year. You have given me a new found reason for being soooo happy we celebrate this day.

For the record, the war still raged for many years after 1776, so you didnt kick anyone out on that date. ;)

We should have also given a big shout out to France for helping us with all of that. We would not have won if it was not for their help.:D

At any rate, I knew you were joking as was I. Actually I was trying to show the irony. If you were serious that would have been different. Your comment to Force was pretty pitiful though and insulting.

One who reads history also can't escape the knowledge that had GB really, really wanted to keep the colonies, it would have. Cornwallis' eventual surrender could easily have been ignored by the Crown.

Edit: To be fair Gary not all pickup on our sense of humor, I recently submitted a ticket to another company where I titled a ticket "You TERDS duly note this lol!" and the person assigned to the ticket took offense... I replied with "I have three kids, I call all of them terds and I love them it's an old saying so don't assume everyone calling you a terd means you're a pos, certainly not me!" but as you can see it was one and so was this - a situation where our tone and humor did not shine through to them at all. <-- Tis ok, so long as everyone realizes it was a simple joke afterwords (and another reason why I always mention that overusing smilies is never a bad thing due to lack of tone).
