What's New/Forum Threads Not displaying avatar
 

Hey all,

Having problems getting my forum threads/what's new section to display avatars. Come up with the username in plain txt instead.

This happened after VB upgrade. Cannot for the life of me remember how to fix it.

Any help would be appreciated.

Try:

Admincp -> Maintenance --> General Update Tools --> Rebuild Avatar Thumbnails

Clear your system cache while you are there too. :)

No that didn't work unfortunately. :(

Was hoping it was going to be easy like that but it's not looking that way.

It only doesn't display the person who started the threads avatar in the section if that helps?

Do they exist in the correct directory?
Do you have access to that directory?
Are you getting an error from your web browser?
Are you getting an error from your php logs?

I see that half of them have avatars. If I am looking at the right place on your page (forum sidebar, "Forum Threads"). Your description is pretty confusing.

The biggest problem I see is the 1.2mb page load. Takes me 24s to load your page and I am on fiber. Although, I did not check where your board is located.

Yes that's the correct spot.

Don't know how you get confusing as I'm pretty clear in my first post....

Ignore the page loads nothing to do with the problem.

Any idea's?

The avatars are not available. See the 404 errors on the page load.
Check again that the missing avatars actually do exist in the directory.

That makes sense.

There were only 20 pics that were in the customavatars folder but not the thumbs folder inside customavatars.

Any idea why this would have happened?

Did you move to another server or just upgraded vbulletin on the same server?
What version of PHP were you running when you did the upgrade?

Upgraded VB on the same server.

Was running PHP 5.2.9 during the upgrade.

No big deal just don't want to have to do this all the time.

One last question, if you do not mind: What version did you upgrade from?

It was interesting because when I checked the link later, I was also able to link to the avatar. Maybe the thumbnails were reprocessed. I dunno. :)

It was the last version of vbulletin 3. Can't remember the exact version number now but the last they ever released for V3

I'm still having the problem even after I copy image files from customavatars to customavatars/thumbs

Any other idea's?

Looking at you web page, I cannot find any errors. It cannot be determined online if a user is suppose to have an avatar or not. If you can refer us to a specific error or specific omitted data then we might be able to assist you further.

All users that avatars are not displaying in the forum threads on the right hand side have avatars.

There are no specific errors anywhere. If there was I could fix it.

Sorry to not give much information but that's all I have. I have also noticed the picture that usually displays for Go To Last Post behind the threads has disappeared as well?

What MOD are you using for avatars in last post area, since that is not vBulletin code?

I meant the "last post" avatar MOD. :)
