If you allow guests to contact us, might want to enable human verification for that.

Personally I use Q&A for contact us as I allow guests to use it.

If it is image human verification, I think some bots have featured out how to read that.

With Q&A. Just ask, for example, "what is the colour of milk?". The answer is not in the question and the question is not a math question like 1+1=?.

Bots just cannot think like a human hence very hard for them to get through Q&A.

it was probably a human, i got to different ones in the space of 30 mins. There is no way anyone can sent a trojan or worm hack or anything without me clicking a link right?

Can just add that email domain to the ban list.

I know you did not ask for solutions, but fassim anti spam addon is quite nice.
