Cool, I see them now, is everything listed in the first post in the Lite version? If so what benefits are in the PRO?

This is very interesting. A couple of questions:
- Does it include any of your other products (like the notifications)? - Will existing mods like Dragonbyte mentions and notifications and stuff still work? - More importantly - how does infinite scrolling affect page views, ad revenue, and SEO? Wouldn't that reduce page views and ad revenue? - How does deployment per style work? You say it works for light and dark styles. - Is there a way to keep the old system as default and run this as an option for selected users/admins to try it out? - Does it have any enhanced social media integration? - Are new replies AJAX like Facebook? I'm sure more questions will occur, but it's interestin for sure! |

1. It is tied together with all our VIP or single purchase. I can't discuss premium or pricing here. 2. Untested 3. It decreases "page clicks" when users need to find a new post, but increases activity as this makes it easier to find and navigate the site. 4. Its' different per style. Its' coded to work with stylevars, so it adapts to each and every style. At the moment, you can keep the default for guests, and modern forums for regular members. Also regular members can turn it off from usercp. 5. Our other stuff does this 6. We did not modify new replies. We added a new thread creator. Which can popup from forumhome/forum categories etc. Try it live: http://vbsocial.com/forum/ username: user password: test |
Let me know if you have any other questions :)

I am intrigued, for sure. It's such a big change, though, that I really feel I need to be able to control it by user group, starting with just the admins and then some select members before opening it to everyone.

This looks very interesting.
I have a big problem on my forum with inexperienced users posting in the wrong category. I'd like to give this a try but I am pretty sure it would exacerbate that problem the way it is set up. Do you have any ideas for how I might try to prompt them to choose the right category when posting? Or, alternatively, can I disable the option to create a thread from anywhere? Thanks for your time. |
Guys, your mods ideas are very nice.
However, and this comes from a former subscriber to your services, i have yet to try a mod that works perfectly. There are always issues with either stylesheets or coding in general with your mods. For example, when i enable this specific mod, my forum stops loading and gives me a blank page. PHP ERROR LOG OUTPUT: ### [Wed Apr 09 12:55:37 2014] [error] [client xxx] PHP Fatal error: require_once() [<a href='function.require'>function.require</a>]: Failed opening required '/home/x/www/x.org/forum/includes/functions_mf.php' (include_path='.:') in /home/x/www/x.org/forum/forum.php(89) : eval()'d code on line 264 ### |
Thanks for posting this. I was just about to try this out but think I'll give it a miss now!

I like it but it reminds me too much of Discourse's forum software lol

Hey guys,
Any idea why after installation and setup, the main forum page looks great as expected but there is no Create a Thread button, anywhere. Not even on the separate category pages. The moderator options is there but the Create Thread is not. Disabled all plugins/products to test for any conflict but found nothing. It simply wasn't showing the Create Thread. The only way I found to add a thread is Forum Tools-> but that really isn't a great method and hard to explain to new visitors and even existing members :) Had to disable the plugin at this point given the fact it is enabled by default once installed. Be interested to see if anybody knows why this is or how to fix it. Thanks! |

I'll try that out. I thought this wasn't theme specific, originally anyhow.
Problem is gotta wait until nobody is around before doing the switch since by default, the new look is present which if those buttons are gone, sorta breaks function :) |
I am having the same issue, on the default forum as well. There is an option to create a new thread under the Forum Tools drop down but I want a button that is "clearly" visible on every page.
|
Yep still the same. No mods installed (well en-abled), no plugins outside the VB ones and even those have the blog and cms related disabled.
Not sure what's going on here but clearly if this is a 'sold' product as well, it must be working. Of course not going to buy it until shown it does, otherwise a waste, ya know... |
I would also like to see a link/button to turn it on or off for the members, even if it takes them the user cp... I don't want to answer 500 questions on how to disable it.
Also, can category coloring be turn off so it's just a normal link? |

Or has it not worked right for anybody up until now, at least the non-paid version? |
