New Posts link throws an error

VB 4 version 4.1.2 PL8
Shared hosting.
Problem occurs with all themes including default VB theme.
When the "New Posts" link is clicked on, I get routed to a page with this error.

I can't find anything related to it's setup in the ACP. Might be looking right at it and not seeing it. Any ideas what's causing this error? How to fix it?

If it can't be fixed, how do you disable the function or disable the link?

You need to get the error from your server error logs, that message is to generic.

look at your htaccess. You might have the problem in there if you are using it to redirect that link

Why don't you remove that htaccess and see if it works. If it does then you worry about disabling it. If it does not then it was not that

The top 2 are when I clicked on the link and then went back to see the error. The 14:28 was the last time I clicked the link so that's the freshest data I have.
That came out of cpanel. If I need to contact my host let me know.

The wallbase.net is when I turned on the antileach in cpanel last night and added a redirect link. I disabled that but looks like the rule remains. I can just edit that line out, right?
The problem was there before I did the antileach. Matter of fact the new posts link has never worked.
I'm using friendly url's. Could that be the problem? Maybe it doesn't work in that mode. ???

Hmmmm, I don't see anything that stands out, but I am no expert either.

Ok so what template has the link in it so I can disable it?

What version of vB4 are you running? I assume you want to remove the New Posts link?

4.1.2 PL 8 Yes remove link and disable function. The Neon Black theme has a button in the top row that links to the function also so need to disable the function.

I would assume the ones in the top are in the header, and the other one is in the navbar.

Ya know what, it is not only the New Posts search, it is all search links, go to http://www.computervitals.org/search.php and click on any of the links in the sub-navbar.

Also it happens while doing any search.

Try the following:

On a unmodified default style.
With all mods disabled.

I had the host disable mod_security and that didn't fix it. Created a virgin default theme and the problem was still there.

Upgraded to 4.2.2 and that fixed the search problem but brought on a couple more. One is the styles changer is blank. The other is the general tools in the ACP stops loading at clear and rebuild search index. This warning message appears right above the search tool:

Warning: Declaration of vBForum_Item_SocialGroupMessage::getLoadQuery() should be compatible with that of vB_Model::getLoadQuery() in ..../packages/vbforum/item/socialgroupmessage.php on line 261

Have no idea what that's about. With out the style selector I can't see how much damage was done to the other styles.

In class_core.php around lines 5683-5685

Find:

Replace with:

And see if that solves the problems.

Not only is it in the tools in the ACP now when I click on advanced under the search box it's there too.

It's white with no text but when you click the arrow it opens up and shows the menu. I can live with that.
One last thing. Should I tell my host to turn mod_security back on?

You can try, and see if it causes any issues.
