How do you enable blogs?
Hello,
I'm trying to enable blogs, but don't have an option in the admincp anywhere (even in the products area). Any idea? Thanks |
Did you purchase the Suite version or the forum version? Or is this a vB5 purchase?
It was a vBulletin 5 purchase, but I use vBulletin 4. I have an option to download vBulletin 4.x Publishing Suite and I have noticed blog.php etc files in my directory.
When you buy vBulletin 5 you have the option to download vBulletin 4.2.2 .
I downloaded vb 4.2.2 and it came with blog and CMS. Check your products and pluging maybe it it disabled. |
Yes, I'm aware, but I use vBulletin 4.2.1 and would like to install blogs (I don't want to do a clean install)
Plugin manager.

And you dont find "blog" in you products and plugins manager? I?m not sure if vB 4.2.1 includes blog and cms, Do you even have CMS plugin? |
No, I searched everywhere, I don't have it. How would I install it?
Read this post, https://vborg.vbsupport.ru/showthrea...ight=reinstall
Could someone just send me the XML? Since I have all the files in the directory already.
Thanks |
No, that would not work, you need to follow the instructions in that post,
Thank you.
I am receiving startup errors, mainly File does not contain expected contents |
You would need to replace ALL the files in the download package. If you only replace the one file, it will always show up as not containing the expect contents because the md5 checksum is going to be different than that listed in the md5_sums_vbulletin.php file.
I have made edits in some of the files, is it a big issue if I ignore it? Since there's an option to ignore and proceed. Also getting, Warning: file_get_contents(/www/site/htdocs/clientscript/index.html): failed to open stream: Permission denied
Also, some sites use; content.php?r=1999-Now-what-Five-things-to-do-once Is this part of the blog? |
I can't say for certain, but I am sure you did a backup, so if something blows up, you can restore it.
Alright, also, I noticed I don't have vBulletin CMS, would the upgrade install this too?
It should, as long as you have everything loaded correctly.
ok, thanks
