Go Advanced Button not working
Hello,
Just noticed after clicking "Edit", the "Go Advanced" button fails. The JS console error is"Uncaught ReferenceError: PATHS is not defined ". What is the best way to fix this? Thanks. |
Have you tried disabling all mods and see if it still happens? Have you tried it on a unmodified default style? Have you tried different browsers?
|
What vb version?

On an unmodified style: works fine in Chrome, not in Firefox. With Disabled Hooks set to true, it works fine in Firefox and Chrome. How can I troubleshoot which mod is causing this? Do I need to go through and manually disable each one? Quote:
Thanks! |

This is tough to find. While we're not using many mods, I just tried now in Firefox and it works fine. Sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn't. What is the best way to troubleshoot this when it is tough to replicate the error every time?
Thanks. |
One way is to have a look at the source code when it does err, and see if anything looks amis. Run the source code through the W3C Validator if nothing jumps out at you. But first go to General Settings in your vBulletin Options and turn on Add Template Name in HTML Comments. This, while not always the quickest method, is one of the first things I do when I encounter something like this.
If you're not familiar with validation, there's an article in my profile that you might find useful. |
Come to think of it, because this error doesn't happen every time, maybe it has always has issues in both browsers, and I wonder if a plugin is even causing the error since it happens randomly. Looking at the source code, there are 98 errors.
The JS console error is"Uncaught ReferenceError: PATHS is not defined ". Any further ideas to resolve this? Thanks. |
98 errors?? Are you sure those are not warnings?

Would someone be willing to take a look at this issue for me provided I give account access? Thanks! |
You can PM me access, and I can see if I can replicate it, and figure it out. I can look into it when I get home from work.

Are you sure this is not an issue with your browser? I was also having some js issues and thought it was my site but after resetting Firefox all works normal.
You can also have js issues if running your browser in a sandbox such as Avast or similar. |

Do you have any kind of template modifications, added JavaScript perhaps, that does something randomly, or based on certain conditions? But definitely clearing those errors out of the way will reveal, at least, part of the problem.
