Go Advanced Button not working

Hello,
Just noticed after clicking "Edit", the "Go Advanced" button fails. The JS console error is"Uncaught ReferenceError: PATHS is not defined ".

What is the best way to fix this?

Thanks.

Have you tried disabling all mods and see if it still happens? Have you tried it on a unmodified default style? Have you tried different browsers?

ForceHSS 12-11-2013 11:37 AM

What vb version?

It works fine in Chrome on the style, but not in Firefox.

On an unmodified style: works fine in Chrome, not in Firefox.

With Disabled Hooks set to true, it works fine in Firefox and Chrome. How can I troubleshoot which mod is causing this? Do I need to go through and manually disable each one?

That'd be the quickest and surest way. Start with mods you know would affect the thread areas, and work your way from there.

This is tough to find. While we're not using many mods, I just tried now in Firefox and it works fine. Sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn't. What is the best way to troubleshoot this when it is tough to replicate the error every time?

Thanks.

One way is to have a look at the source code when it does err, and see if anything looks amis. Run the source code through the W3C Validator if nothing jumps out at you. But first go to General Settings in your vBulletin Options and turn on Add Template Name in HTML Comments. This, while not always the quickest method, is one of the first things I do when I encounter something like this.

If you're not familiar with validation, there's an article in my profile that you might find useful.

Come to think of it, because this error doesn't happen every time, maybe it has always has issues in both browsers, and I wonder if a plugin is even causing the error since it happens randomly. Looking at the source code, there are 98 errors.

The JS console error is"Uncaught ReferenceError: PATHS is not defined ".

Any further ideas to resolve this? Thanks.

98 errors?? Are you sure those are not warnings?

It showed 98 errors and 8 warnings. Many of them were from the FB Connect and FB Like integration.

Would someone be willing to take a look at this issue for me provided I give account access?

Thanks!

You can PM me access, and I can see if I can replicate it, and figure it out. I can look into it when I get home from work.

Are you sure this is not an issue with your browser? I was also having some js issues and thought it was my site but after resetting Firefox all works normal.

You can also have js issues if running your browser in a sandbox such as Avast or similar.

Not sure. It sometimes works, and sometimes doesn't. Very difficult for me to find out what the cause is. I have restarted Firefox and Chrome and the issue still happens randomly.

Do you have any kind of template modifications, added JavaScript perhaps, that does something randomly, or based on certain conditions? But definitely clearing those errors out of the way will reveal, at least, part of the problem.

Nothing that I can think of. As for those errors: ozzy is going to take a look. Many thanks.
