Need help asap!

Ok so we have been up and running for weeks on 4.2.2 and this morning we installed the newest version of Tapatalk and it destroyed all the themes we had installed. turned them all hot pink. SO i removed all themes and tried reinstalling them. Now its a mess and non of them seem to work. I think even the basic default vb theme is gone. the only one that remotely works is the default vb mobile theme.

I am at a loss and have no clue what to do to fix our forum.

Try creating a new style with no parent.

tbworld 12-10-2013 04:38 PM

1.) Make a backup of your system, or restore it if you made one before Tapatalk.
2.) Disable the plugins/hook system in config.php.
3.) If you have lost the master vbulletin style. You can use tools.php to restore it.

I hope it helps. :)

If i go to the style generator i dont have the option to do it with out a parent.

This is what Im getting. there used to be a color wheel.

Upload tools.php from the do_not_upload directory to your admincp. Point your browser at it, login, and rebuild the master style. You will need to upload the /install directory (without the /cmsdefaultdata directory or the install.php or upload.php file) in order to run the tools.php script.

I have disabled all plugins. As for the tools.php I have no idea how to use that function.

Would it be any easier just to reinstall VB 4.2.2?

NO!

If you can access the files to do that, you can follow Lynne's advice and just get the one she suggests.

Here's a waterfall chart of your site's loading. All the 404 errors are just missing images - I'd expected a 404 on your CSS files.

Ok not sure if it helps but this is all I have in the style manager. Should i delete all the styles and the reupload the xmls after i try and rebuild the default VB theme?

Max Taxable 12-10-2013 05:10 PM

Where it says "Add New Style" when you click on that, you should have ability to create new style with no parent. We need this to be able to tell if you have files corrupted, or what.

Please turn on your board temporarily so I can get a test reading on that style from googletech. This will tell us what files are missing and/or corrupted.

Jester1423 12-10-2013 05:23 PM

ok it is on.

Max Taxable 12-10-2013 05:28 PM

Must make that test style available for public view, styleid=33.

I turned them all on. So the box at the bottom will allow you to switch them

I am still getting the dark style.... In Style and Language settings do you have it set for users allowed to change styles? I am going directly to the link for the test style, since the skin chooser dropdown is not working.

You can see it all since you're admin, visitors can't so you need to change permission in Style and Language settings.

Well... I am still getting the dark style. Please uncheck all boxes for styles in style manager, except only styleid=33.

Jester1423 12-10-2013 05:41 PM

Ok all unchecked. I deleted style 33 so i belive the "test1" is now id:34

Max Taxable 12-10-2013 05:42 PM

Also in your attachment it shows you made the "test1" style a child of the "test" style. We need a master style created with no parent and no child in order so have hope to see what is going on.

Ok Please start over now... No more deleting stuff... And create new style called "master" with NO parent, NO child. This is to force a style that calls up all of the vBulletin default style files, images, and so on. And please have that one the ONLY one checked in style manager.

Your default vBulletin style files must be corrupted, because I am still getting that dark style. What is style ID number of "Master?"

We are right back to what Lynne said Here... Thus MUST be done.

Style id: 35

ALL of the red lines in chart represent missing elements. Your vB default style is gone. You MUST do as Lynne suggested in the post linked above.

Here is your chart.

You can go to members area of vBulletin dot com, log in, and download the complete package right where you are.

I don't mind helping out at all my friend.

Backup :)

Max Taxable 12-10-2013 06:26 PM

Yes that is MUCH better! You can at least have your site open for your members now while you address the other issues.

Just disable all the tapatalk plugins in plugin manager now and open back up for business.

Jester1423 12-10-2013 06:28 PM

If its for your database Cpanel or phpMyAdmin.

Edit------

Or you can Try this mod vBulletin Cron Based Database Backup by Paul M

But if you going to update something i would do a manual backup.
