Interesting Facts

In the past three months, the members here have made it so that I have had fourteen mods up for MOTM.

In October, there was 4 of my mods up for MOTM. (of which one won) :)
In November, there was 5 of my mods up for MOTM. (of which two won) :)
In December, there are 5 of my mods up for MOTM. (perhaps a five way tie :p )

Also some more interesting info:
In September, there was 2 mods from DBTech up for MOTM, that I had coded for them, when I was working with them. (of which one won) :)

In July, there was 1 mod from DBTech up for MOTM, that I had coded for them, when I was working with them. (which won) :)

In June, there was 1 mod from DBTech up for MOTM, that I had coded for them, when I was working with them. (which won) :)

In May, there was 2 of my mods up for MOTM. (of which one won) :)

In April, there was 2 mods from DBTech up for MOTM, that I had coded for them, when I was working with them. (both lost to another DBTech mod) :(

In March, there was 1 mod from DBTech up for MOTM, that I had coded for them, when I was working with them. (which lost) :(

In February, there was 1 mod from DBTech up for MOTM, that I had coded for them, when I was working with them. (which lost to another DBTech mod) :(

In January, there was 1 mod from DBTech up for MOTM, that I had coded for them, when I was working with them. (which won) :)

So out of 60 spots (12 months x 5 mods a month), in the past 12 months, mods that I coded have been up for 25 out of the 60. :)
In the past 11 months, * mods that I have coded have wom. :)

I would like to thank everyone who nominated all those mods, so they could have the chance to be considered for MOTM.

I would also like to than everyone that voted for the mods. Seems like the people voting this year has declined from the past, I hope it gets better. It means alot to a developer even for his/her mod to be up for MOTM, and even better if they win. :D

Congrats Ozzy47

ozzy47 12-01-2013 12:21 PM

Thanks, but it is you members that make it all possible. :)

socialteenz 12-01-2013 12:39 PM

Nicely Summed up ozzy.

You definitely deserve an award.

ozzy47 12-01-2013 12:43 PM

Nah, I already got the award by even having any mods considered. :)

cellarius 12-01-2013 01:35 PM

Congrats, ozzy, very well deserved indeed. You code good quality and provide superb support!

And still it makes me somewhat sad to see those votes nowadays. They show that there's not all that many coders left that can provide MOTM-quality, and also the number of participants has dropped significantly. 30 votes only, when three years ago or even last year there were well > 120.

ozzy47 12-01-2013 01:39 PM

Thanks. I have used many of your mods in the past, as they were superb as well. :)

Yeah the vote counts is quite a sad thing, and another trend I noticed, is there are quite a few users that download mods, use them on their site, but do not mark as installed. I am hoping the new year will start to change that, but it's a long shot. :)

In the old days, we used to emphasize that in our modification threads. (And not just to Mark as Installed, but to also nominate.) And I notice it's not emphasized to extent it used to be. Probably, in part, because people had finally gotten used to doing it for the most part. It might just be that it needs to be emphasized again in some of the newer mods. People used to be really strict about providing support users who had failed to mark the modification.

ozzy47 12-01-2013 05:32 PM

I thought about it, but I do remind each person that asks for support to mark as installed if they have not. :)

You need a life pally.:D

ozzy47 12-01-2013 05:40 PM

LOL I got one, putting out free mods. :)

ZUCCO 12-06-2013 02:53 AM

lol, how long would it take to develop a mod like pmspy?

ozzy47 12-06-2013 02:56 AM

Depends on your knowledge of css, php, html, and javascript, and your work ethic. :)

Ozzy, how did you learn all you know about mods? I would like to learn how to develop one. I have knowledge in html and javascript but I have never applied them into vbulletin. Maybe videos or experience in forums

ozzy47 12-06-2013 02:59 AM

I was taught by some good people the basics, the rest I just searched, and read alot of things to figure out how to make it work.

So, do you develop premium mods?

ozzy47 12-06-2013 03:02 AM

You mean paid ones?

Yeah, paid ones, or customized (I think thats the right word)

ozzy47 12-06-2013 03:06 AM

I did when I worked for DBTech, but now I prefer to release free mods. Once I launch my site, I might add features to my existing / new mods that would be in a paid version.

For custom work, if you want something developed, I would suggest posting in the paid request forum.

I would be more than happy to participate in your website. If you can dont forget to send me a private message with THE url :D I want to learn more about developing mods

ozzy47 12-06-2013 03:16 AM

It's not gonna be a site for learning, it is going to be a site like here. Will be easier for me to keep track of bug reports and feature requests.

ozzy47 12-06-2013 03:34 AM

Yeah, I have learned quite a few things, just by searching and reading here. :)

katie hunter 12-09-2013 10:03 PM
