Recently i moved my forum from whangout.com domain to http://WebmasterForumUK.com

Seems like it is only a issue when viewing the home page, when viewing a forum, it shows you as logged in.
--------------- Added [DATE]1384692856[/DATE] at [TIME]1384692856[/TIME] --------------- Also if you refresh the home page, it will show you logged in. |
How to fix this then..?
Shall i open support ticket? |
Check your settings in, Site Name / URL / Contact Details
|
The settings are ok there.....
|
Maybe something in your htaccess file?
|
It could be a www issue... meaning, are you logging in with www.yoursitenamedotcom or just yoursitenamedotcom. This has always been an issue for most.
|
I am using without www, now what to do?
even on mobile I am facing the above problem.... |
Did you check what's in your htaccess file?
|
yes I checked but nothing serious......
please help to fix it asap. |
Anyone here please help me to solve this problem please.....
|
Check in vboptions/Site Name and URL, make sure all is correct.
BACKUP YOUR .htaccess file before you edit it Check your .htaccess file for the following. Add this if it does not have it. Code:
RewriteEngine on --------------- Added [DATE]1385011625[/DATE] at [TIME]1385011625[/TIME] --------------- IN vboptions, Site Name & URL, remove WWW, that should correct your issue. |
The htaccess file has following content:
Code:
# Comment the following line (add '#' at the beginning) --------------- Added [DATE]1385016016[/DATE] at [TIME]1385016016[/TIME] --------------- Have edited the htaccess and removed the www...but now firefox is saying: The page isn't redirecting properly Firefox has detected that the server is redirecting the request for this address in a way that will never complete. --------------- Added [DATE]1385016572[/DATE] at [TIME]1385016572[/TIME] --------------- This is the htaccess now: Code:
# Comment the following line (add '#' at the beginning) I have also noticed that this problem is coming on index page......is there anything wrong in index.PHP? |
In vboptions, Site Name & URL, are you using www? If so, remove it.
|
When i added that .htaccess code and removed www in site url, i was getting error in firefox that :
Code:
The page isn't redirecting properly Code:
The site has a Rediretion loop Eddie, Please tell me a better solution, if possible can we have a team viewer session please..? |
Don't remove www from the .htaccess, that needs to stay.
In your admincp/vbulletin options/Site Name & URL, you are using www in the URL, remove www. |
I haven't removed www from htaccess, i had removed it from vbulletin options>>site url
Can you tell if this htaccess code is ok: Code:
# Comment the following line (add '#' at the beginning) Now i have removed www from vbulletin options>>site url and have this code in htaccess file: Code:
# Comment the following line (add '#' at the beginning) Code:
The page isn't redirecting properly Eddie is offline, Why no vbulletin official replying here? I was told in the ticket that i will be helped on the forums..... |
It all looks good and will work fine as soon as you delete your cookies & edit your shortcut to your site on your desk top removing www from it.
I have no issues using FF or IE logging in and out. |
So it will not work with WWW...?
--------------- Added [DATE]1385181872[/DATE] at [TIME]1385181872[/TIME] --------------- its not working and giving the same error on firefox.... I deleted the cookies and tried to hard refresh ctrl+f5 but that redirection error is still coming... |
It will work with both but will redirect to site without www.
Check your navbar template to see if you used full URL in links & remove www from them, in fact search all templates & remove www if you have it in them. |
But i am getting this error on main page: http://webmasterforumuk.com
when i add /index.php to the url means http://webmasterforumuk.com/index.php it works... The users are also reporting this redirection error.... --------------- Added [DATE]1385182732[/DATE] at [TIME]1385182732[/TIME] --------------- Now even opera mini giving this error: Code:
This webpage has a redirect loop --------------- Added [DATE]1385188258[/DATE] at [TIME]1385188258[/TIME] --------------- The site is still giving error.....can you please tell me what to do ..? --------------- Added [DATE]1385199276[/DATE] at [TIME]1385199276[/TIME] --------------- I asked about this from the host and they added the following code extra: Code:
RewriteEngine On Code:
# Comment the following line (add '#' at the beginning) --------------- Added [DATE]1385200505[/DATE] at [TIME]1385200505[/TIME] --------------- Eddie, I added Code:
RewriteEngine On Is it ok? |
problem solved by host. Now you can login logout without any problem
many thanks to blind-eddie who help me a lot. --------------- Added [DATE]1386990115[/DATE] at [TIME]1386990115[/TIME] --------------- now they replied that We had only deleted the session files from the corresponding "session.save" , we had not made any other changes. We had checked and verified that there is no issue with session save path with these domains. So please contact the vBulletin support team to fix this issue, because we do not have much support on application. means the issue is with vBulletin. please the officials reply here. please. --------------- Added [DATE]1386993378[/DATE] at [TIME]1386993378[/TIME] --------------- The problem again started on the forum lol. I have turned "Add No-Cache HTTP Headers" option to "yes". Is it wise to turn this option yes? The other forum users don't have this option turned on to save bandwidth but i have to turn it on to make my site working fine. Is it wise to turn it to yes? Officials reply. |
"Official" support is provided on www.vbulletin.com/forum/ and the first step will be to deactivate VBSEO and rename the .htaccess file to something else to see if you still have the problem. VBSEO will need to stay disabled while trouble-shooting.

to me it looks all wrong while using vbseo.
try this mate! completely remove all your .htaccess and add (copy and paste) all this: Code:
# Comment the following line (add '#' at the beginning) next make sure in "Site Name / URL / Contact Details" look like in attachment below all with www. and last...i use this small addon which works a treat when i was using vbulletin. i would give it a go mate, its awesome. https://vborg.vbsupport.ru/showthrea...=222898&page=4 Quote:
