How to make Feed RSS show images and full text

So I enabled this function in vbulletin 4.2.2 and I did everything correct and I alwa visualize and everything works fine but the posts dont show images and full text, it says show more..

How can I fix it? thank you

There is no way to change that, that is all the RSS feed will put out unfortunately. That is a limitation on the side from where you get the feed from, nothing in vBulletin.

Do you know of any websites that allow you to put full text

I want a robot that posts daily

Not that I was ever able to find. The reason they do that, is because they want the users to view the info on their sites, not yours. Think how you would feel, if another site was able to grab the full content from your posts, and auto post it on their site. :)

check this site: http://www.portalxd.com/foro/peliculas-online-142/

is in spanish but you can see how their robot post the full text with images.

What makes you believe that is a robot from a RSS feed? I did at one point have a site like that, and there were users, (probably bots) that would post 1000's of those a day. But the problem with those is the links become dead quickly, and you have to delete the bad ones.

Well I know because I am a user in that forum and those users are always posting there, also in the xxx zone and they are always there posting and posting since 2012.

I tried going to a feed rss converter so it shows me whole text but it keeps showing me a piee of it :s

And that is how they were intended, to only show a piece of the post. If you want a successful site, I would suggest posting the content yourself, and get users to do the same.

Otherwise what would make a user join your site, if it has the exact same posts from a site that is more successful, and has many more users participating.

In the RSS feed manager where you set up the automatic capture, look at the "Templates" block. There you can choose how much of the feed to capture and you can format it. If you want the robot to capture everything the source allows, put:

{feed:content:encoded}

In the body template.

Keep in mind the RSS poster robot will only post what the external site allows in the feed.

Thank you for clarying my doubts ozzy, you are right there is now way people want to see my forum if all is there is from other sites.

But anyways there is no way to show the full text even using the converter right?

That all depends on the feeds you choose. One popular one I had, was using The Onion as a feed, for example.

Yeah but I was looking for one that provides you the whole text and images, so do you know of any?

I dont want to use it, I just want to try to see how it works and get some activity to my dead forum .

ozzy47 11-17-2013 03:08 AM

Since your site is in Spanish I suppose you would want them in Spanish?

I think you'll only find out when you set the feeds up the way I showed you and let them run... It's hit and miss, trial and error.

Finally I did it, vbulletin support told me that in body format I have to put instead of this:

{feed:description}

more...

put this

{rss:content:encoded}

it works with images, anyways I will post 5 per days in news section I dont want to mess up with my forum

You must have missed my post where I showed you that.

Additionally, you can make these feed posts be moderated, not visible to the board until your approval.

Does that work with the Craigslist field to pull their images too? I've tried it and not having luck.

You can't force the source to give up anything in the RSS feed it doesn't allow.
