Took my mathematics test today, my final test, and passed!

1. Reading: 480
2. Writing: 700
3. Social Studies: 530
4. Science: 550
5. Mathematics: 450

Average Score: 542

For those who don't know, here's how it works: There are 800 points possible you can score; in order to pass each test, you must get at least a 410. However, in order to get your GED, you must have an average of at least 450 across all tests.

It's a Yank thing - General Education Diploma. It's equivalent to a High School diploma for those who for whatever reason, didn't obtain one.

Not to nit pick, but it stands for, General Educational Development. :)

That's the name of the test. The diploma you earn is a General Education Diploma.

At least, that's what they called it back in my school years.:D

Either way, I imagine the bloke understands now.

I (for personal myriad of personal reasons) left school my senior year. I had one semester left and one senior English credit to earn my highschool diploma. I earned my GED the same year. So I realize what a big deal it is. Some folks leave school and never look back. So well done!
