hello,
its been 4 months since this thread was started, @ozzy47, were you able to get the ok and release it? I am looking for the same thing to, and I dont see any confirmation that something has happened yet. |
I have not had the time to go over the mod and release it yet.

If this is the one and you want some help working the bugs out let me know. I have been using it a long time. --------------- Added 12 Feb 2014 at 13:41 --------------- Quote:
While you wait for Ozzy a good way to easily send out newsletters to your members is to install a mod here that allows your email sent directly from your site to be html. You can make a simple html page using html or Dreamweaver, etc and then just paste the html into the email in the users section in the admincp, pick the usergroups you want to send to and bam. I still do this a couple times a month even though I have the other script. It is pretty quick and easy. I will try to find the html mod and post the link. # - Here ya go https://vborg.vbsupport.ru/showthrea...ght=html+email |
Yes it is Christos' mod. :)
|
Christos, That's right. lol
Cool, shoot me an email when you have time and I will explain some of the bugs it has and some of the ones I have fixed. It is a great mod though and definitely has potential. |
Hey Ozzy - I've been looking for a good newsletter mod for awhile now. I used a 'pro' version of one on my old 3.8 board, but it was so buggy, I'm not willing to pay for his vb 4 version. You are a saint for all the great mod work you do here. Any idea when you might have this mod ready for use? I would be glad to pay you to get it tweaked/perfected. PM me if interested.

sir chris waiting for your great response
plz do it evry eye on you |
+1. Still waiting for a GOOD newsletter mod also. I would love to see you fix Chris'.

Sounds very promising and actual could come in veerrry handy ;) |
Sorry nothing yet, been a busy season at work, due to all the bad weather.
|
Just remember: there is no "bad weather", Chris - only improper clothing :D
Thanks for the update  |
+ 1 on paying for this mod Chris!
|
Still hoping for a GOOD newsletter mod! Very willing to pay a reasonable fee for it!
|
In the meantime it is very easy to create a basic html newsletter and then install the mod here that allows html to be emailed. Then just send it through the built in Vbulletin system
If you are not good with html you can use something like Dreamweaver. Newsletters should be fairly simple and to the point anyways. Some text a picture or two and a heading at the top under your logo and bam..good to go.. Oh yeah, also include instructions how to unsubscribe and you are set. This is what I use for html emails..works fine for me on 4.2.2 https://vborg.vbsupport.ru/showthread.php?t=232687 Just paste your html into the box in the Vbulletin email system and pick your usergroups and send.. |
Cant wait to see what Ozzy comes up with for this
|
Any news guys :D :D :D
|
The mod should have a few features, including the ability to integrate the forum's header without a lot of work (which was in Chris' mod- you had to make your own html). It should be able to just capture the header. The unsubscribe link should work in the user's profile so the user can easily unsubscribe.

Waiting anxiously for this mod...
|
Anyone got a mod yet?
|
I have been using Commbull pro, but after it didn't seem to mail out this morning, I am concerned. I would like one that has someone keeping it up to date and supporting it.
Thanks |
I don't know why there doesn't seem to be any interest amongst coders to get this done, given that there is a lot of interest and many would be happy to pay for a great newsletter mod. But I guess it is what it is :) I don't seen any indication that anyone is working on one.
I'm going to bite the bullet and hire a group I trust to code this for me. Good luck to you all. |
Any progress on a newsletter mod? It is REALLY needed!
|
waiting for sir chris for this mod
|
Ill try and see if I can make this my next mod, after I finish up the few I am working on.
|
That would be great! If you are looking for a beta tester, and some features suggestions, I would be glad to help.

I would love to have an updated newsletter mod.
I'm using the old one that someone mentioned earlier, but it's buggy and I don't think the unsubscribe feature works etc. I would love something that still allows me to use custom HTML, so I can design the look and feel. But also allows me to pull in recent threads, popular threads etc. |
Doesn't seem to be any interest in this type of mod.
Does anyone know if the old one that used to be posted here, ever got any updates? I still have it installed (I can't even remember who created it), it works but would really like to see some updates to it. |

It was the one written by Christeris.
I have version 1.0.2 it appears. |
Yes it still works. If I ever get time, I will look into updating it as I own the rights to it. But I have no idea when I will have time.
|
Ozzy!! I can pay you!
|
Nah, I don't charge for my mods. Sometimes people send contributions for them, but I don't charge for work. :)
