Darn why cant I just do a darn upgrade like everyone else? :(

ForceHSS 10-16-2013 04:13 PM

Did you change what is meant to be done in the class_core.php file
Also did you not disable plugins from config before updating?

nhawk 10-16-2013 04:17 PM

Whenever you upgrade all of your add-ons/mods should be disabled. Try disabling them all and see if the upgrade works.

Most of them won't work with vB4 anyway.

ForceHSS 10-16-2013 04:34 PM

here is another change to be done
http://www.vbulletin.com/forum/forum...pmessage/page2

Terrablade 10-16-2013 06:51 PM

I disabled all addons via admincp before the upgrade.
I can not axs admincp anymore to check or do anything.

Alternatives?

Yes!

If it is not too late STOP WHAT YOU ARE DOING!

KEEP version 3!

You'll rue the day you ever "upgraded."

Terrablade 10-16-2013 06:55 PM

Come on now. I need a solution to this, not a reason why not to upgrade.

Hey friend - all these problems "upgrading" are trying to tell you something - a harbinger of the problems to come.

What was the compelling reason for the "upgrade?"

I implore you - stop it now if it's not too late.

Terrablade 10-16-2013 07:19 PM

Please tell me the compelling reason. I am really curious.

30,000+ vB4 installations getting hacked and defaced recently doesn't give you pause?

Terrablade 10-16-2013 07:27 PM

Maz Taxable if you are not going to be a part of the solution for my issue please refrain from commenting here please. You are bloating the thread with irrelevant things. I need HELP with the upgrading issue im facing.

I'm actually giving you very good and sage advice friend, and increasing the chances of others replying by bumping the thread.:D

When the world gives you lemons, make lemonade!

Terrablade 10-16-2013 07:42 PM

I can bump it. All people will read is the rant about why upgrade instead of focusing on the problem Im having. Please STOP.

Actually you can't bump it. Because it will just merge your posts.

Where's the rant? I am merely giving you very good advice about version 4. And asking what is the compelling reason for going to it. No one's ever been able to answer that.

ForceHSS 10-16-2013 07:46 PM

It you want me to have a look at your problem pm me will talk over skype

Terrablade 10-16-2013 07:53 PM

waiting for you ForceHss

LOL @ Max

Maybe it's just me - but I"m thinking since there are so many 4 versions before 4.2.2 - maybe you could upgrade to an early version - then upgrade those once you get it successfully to 4? This is just a clueless person throwing advice to the wind - :) But I wonder.

I had a botched upgrade from the previous version to the latest because of some memory requirements changes that came with the newest version. I can only imagine that there are a whole host of system requirements that have changed between the two versions.... is your PHP up to date?
