Is there possible to have Reply to tread and the Quick reply open at the same time

When I click on 'Reply to Thread' I just get the quick reply.
I have to click on the 'Go Advanced' to get intro this 'Reply to Thread'

Is there possible to have Reply to tread and the Quick reply open at the same time?
Or do I have to choose between those two? :o

Thanks :)

Sure thing.

Admin CP --> vBulletin Options --> Message Posting and Editing Options --> Set the first setting Quick Reply to Yes, Click Not Required

Thank you! I did all this..
But when I click the Reply to tread I just get the quick reply window!

I still have to choose 'Go Advanced' to go to the advanced window

Maybe try this, Admin CP --> vBulletin Options --> Message Posting and Editing Options --> Set the first setting Quick Reply to No

Then clicking on Reply should open the full editor.

@Ozzy47

Does an administrators personal profile settings override the ACP messaging permissions?

ozzy47 09-30-2013 11:39 PM

Not exactly sure what you mean?

toplinks --> settins -> general settings administrator -> miscelaneous options -> Message Editor Interface:

Does this override the normal ACP editor settings for an Administrator?

Hopefully, this is a bit more clear...

I don't believe so, never really tried to be honest.

But, then the quick reply is all gone!
I want them both there! :)

Is there possible to get the 'smilies' to show in the Quick Reply box?

This use to be a popular MOD, you might want to take a look at it. I have never used it, I prefer the way vbulletin has handled the editors. But hey, everyone is different and that is what makes it interesting.

Just in case, to cover the basics.

This is not possible. Quick reply is AJAX functionality, which means the quick editor is opened on the same page. The advanced editor is opened on a new page.

Also, this does not make sense. You can't type a post in two editor instances at the same time, so why open them at the same time?

You misunderstand what I mean. Im sorry for my bad English...

It IS possible here at this site (vBulletingorg)

Example: When Im in this tread (Yes, the one you now read)
I have the Quick Reply open, AND when I click the
Post Reply it takes me to the advanced window.
And that's what I want!
So I can choose if I want Quick Reply or Post Reply!

But maybe it's not possible for vBulletin4?

Really, I don't understand your issue. If that's all you want you just would have to change the link for the reply button, but a double click on any of the reply buttons takes you to the advanced editor anyway.
