[OzzModz] Extended Search Links In Navbar

[B][SIZE=3]Another mod brought to you by,
https://vborg.vbsupport.ru/external/2015/01/1.png

This is a cool little addon that will add some good search links in the navbar for you and your members to use.

This can be really useful to you as a admin, and to your mods, to see if there is any unanswered threads on your site that need attention.

Note: As of now this is only compatible with vB version 4.2.0 and above (which has the Navigation Manager). If there is enough requests for it, I will see about making it compatible with all v4.x

It is a simple installation, just import the product XML, product-ozzy_extended_search Or if you want the links to show up on the Forum Tab, and the What's New Tab, import the product XML, product-ozzy_extended_search_2

You can edit the options under the settings, Ozzy: Extended Search Links Settings

Possible links to show your members
  • Link that searches for all their threads.
  • Link that searches for all their posts.
  • Link that searches for all their threads, in a forum, if they are in that forum.
  • Link that searches for all their posts, in a forum, if they are in that forum.
  • Link to search for unanswered threads since their last visit.
  • Link to search for unanswered threads since yesterday.
  • Link to search for unanswered threads since a week.
  • Link to search for unanswered threads since two weeks.
  • Link to search for unanswered threads since a month.
  • Link to search for unanswered threads since three months.
  • Link to search for unanswered threads since six months.
  • Link to search for unanswered threads since 1 year.

What does 'Marking As Installed' do ?

* It helps you to stay on top of updates - members who have installed modifications will be notified whenever new updates are available.

* For security issues - vbulletin.org will contact all members who have installed a modification whenever a security issue is brought to their attention.

* Marking a modification as installed also helps me know how many people are using my work, giving me extra incentive to provide more features and new modifications.

I appreciate the support!

ozzy47 09-17-2013 12:42 AM

Ok I think I got it sorted, uninstall the mod, and re install with the new XML.

fleshy66 09-17-2013 01:26 AM

That fixed the links "View my threads" and "View my posts" but when I click them now it comes up with this.
Quote:

Please add more constraints to your search. Searches that return all or most of the database are a bad idea.

ozzy47 09-17-2013 01:32 AM

Hmmm, I don't get that on my dev board, can you try from your profile page, clicking on the Find latest posts and Find latest started threads links, as it uses the same type of links.

fleshy66 09-17-2013 01:59 AM

Yeah thats the first thing I did. Works fine from the profile.

ozzy47 09-17-2013 02:07 AM

Hmmm, ok can you go to the Navigation Manager, click on the Forum Tab, scroll down till you see, View My Threads (Link) edit that, and then in the field, Target URL, change what is there to this:

Code:

search.php?{session.sessionurl}do=finduser&userid={session.userid}&starteronly=1&contenttype=vBForum_Thread
Then see if you get the same results.

fleshy66 09-17-2013 03:15 AM

That just fixed the View My Threads parts.Works well by the way.
The error still comes up in View My Posts still.
Thanks.

Disco_Dave 09-17-2013 08:51 AM

Getting this error when viewing, all my posts:

PHP Code:

Please add more constraints to your searchSearches that return all or most of the database are a bad idea

Ok thanks to fleshy66 testing I will update this later today when I get home in order to stop those errors. I will send out a update notice when this has been done.

So keep a eye out for the notice. :)

mitch84 09-18-2013 10:32 AM

hi, can you add a option for exclude some forums ? because i use a rss forum (and this section is only read)and all topics are listed (+2000!)
And members do not have the permission to see some forums will not see certain topics? Because I see that you can select groups, this replaces the forum permissions or groups?
thx

CharlieDelta 09-18-2013 03:43 PM

ozzy47 09-23-2013 09:35 PM

Not a problem. Glad you found it useful, and thanks for marking it as installed. :)

Ragman68 09-24-2013 09:19 AM

Hi Ozzy, thanks for your reply, I just wondered if it would it be possible for the 'my search links' link to also show on the 'whats new' page?, the reason I ask is when you select from the drop down menu it will take you to the 'whats new' page with your selection however you then have to go back to the home page to select another option from that menu

ozzy47 09-24-2013 10:21 AM

Try this XML.

That should also add the links to the what's new page.

EDIT: added the XML to the first post.

tbworld 10-04-2013 12:21 AM

Nice addition @Ozzy47, should help a ton of users. Your on fire! :)

ozzy47 10-04-2013 12:25 AM

Thanks, I try and post the things I have done over the years as template edits, but turn them into a product. :)

tbworld 10-04-2013 01:10 AM

These small mods you are making -- as-you-know -- are what vb users ask for all the time. Makes my job here easy. :)

jjohns12 10-04-2013 01:57 AM

Great Mod Thank You!

ozzy47 10-04-2013 02:20 AM

djbaxter 10-11-2013 01:30 AM

Not sure I have a need for this personally but I just wanted to applaud all the hard work you've been doing lately. It's nice to see coders getting active again on this site.

ozzy47 10-11-2013 01:32 AM

Thanks, I am just trying to introduce new life here, and perhaps get some of the coders to get active again. :)

djbaxter 10-11-2013 01:46 AM

Well, you have become almost a one man show, along with BOP5. :)

It is appreciated.

Isnt that a TWO man show then?

;)

But yes, it is very much appreciated by many.
Especially to those that dont patronise overly copyrighted corporate modifications, like me.

ozzy47 10-11-2013 03:41 PM

I know some people don't like, copyrighted corporate modifications, that is why I am releasing smaller mods under my own name, rather than under DBTech, I still release stuff there, just more involved mods. :)

BrianP 10-22-2013 04:16 PM

Thank you very much for an easy to install plug in which works perfectly.

ozzy47 10-22-2013 06:54 PM
