[OzzModz] Post Body Background For Specific Users

Another mod brought to you by,
https://vborg.vbsupport.ru/external/2015/01/1.png

Here is a small modification you can do to have a different background in posts, set to specific users, in postbit legacy.

To get this to work, follow the instructions in the attached, Post Body Background For Specific Users.txt file.

I don't have any screenshots at the moment, I'll try to get some. Or if some of you use this mod, please share a screenshot of what you have done.

ozzy47 08-25-2013 02:39 PM

Reserved.

socialteenz 08-25-2013 06:51 PM

Thank you.

Here is the screen shot from my default style.

Thanks for marking as installed, and showing a screenshot. :)

socialteenz 08-26-2013 09:00 AM

Glad i could be of help, you are welcome :)

ozzy47 08-27-2013 11:31 PM

Anyone else have screenshots, or any issues with the mod?

abieteh.com 08-28-2013 10:10 AM

You must correct this:

Code:

background: url(images/chain_gradient.jpg); repeat;
Change to:

Code:

background: url(images/chain_gradient.jpg) repeat;

ozzy47 08-28-2013 10:18 AM

I believe it will work either way. Is there a particular reason to change it?

Kraxell 08-29-2013 08:27 PM

Wow, this looks very terrible.....

ozzy47 08-30-2013 03:03 AM

How so Kraxell???

Kraxell 08-30-2013 07:38 AM

You cant read the message anymore with this picture. Maybe its ok with other pictures but....

ozzy47 08-30-2013 09:14 AM

That's true, that screenshot is just a example of how the post might look. I choose that image to show how it looks in a post. Of course each user would have to choose their own images based off their style and font in the post.

You simply need to add more transparency to the picture....

Absolutely... You chaps do a great job and anything I can do to add to the momentum is a small token of appreciation well deserved...

ozzy47 09-04-2013 11:19 AM

Thanks, as long as some members use the mods, and enjoy them, it makes it worth while to code them.

DemOnstar 09-04-2013 01:44 PM

Shall look at it tonight on localhost to see if it is a necessity..
I certainly (as always) will mark as installed.

vB is just bare bones without pioneers like yourselves...It is people like yourselves, volunteers and enthusiasts that should be sorting out all of the problems vB currently has..
vB.org and vB.com seem to be affiliated but it doesn't appear that you are working together.

You chaps and vB as a company could resurrect the brand in days...

DemOnstar 09-08-2013 07:52 AM

It does the job but if I wanted the image to be centered, both horizontally and vertically, how would I do that?

Thanks.

Can you provide me with the image you are using, so I can test it out on my dev console when I get a chance?

K4GAP 09-08-2013 01:29 PM

Will you please supply the code for padding on the left side? I want to use a spiral notebook's bindings that will show on left side only.

ozzy47 09-08-2013 01:51 PM

I'll check it out as soon as I can, trying to relocate servers, and don't have access to my dev sites atm.

I like the spiral notepad thing above also... Mine is just another example.

I guess by adding options for padding from all sides will do the trick for everyone.

Thanks..

ozzy47 09-09-2013 08:19 PM

I will see what I can come up with, I have a few ideas, just need to test them and work out any flaws. Watch this thread for more info.

DemOnstar 09-10-2013 02:34 AM

I will be watching....

One more thing to make it a little more of a challenge. How about adding a feature whereas a different background image could be added to each different user group ID? As well as retaining the ability to add a unique image to an individual...

ozzy47 09-10-2013 02:36 AM

Now you are asking for WAY to much. :p

Just kidding, I will see what I can do when I get time to play around with this again. :)

Yeah and why you are at it, can you fix the CK editor, and sort out the PHP compatibility.
Add IPv6 support, feature request watermarking for images, PUSH notifications to phone, so that users are alerted of notifications when not actively using the app. Also, Chat room addon, automatic clean up of deprecated/obsolete files, CMS SEO rewrite. My turn for kidding :)

Cheers ozzy47....

P.S. Custom Content Creation, Google Checkout (Now Google Wallet), Internal Like system, Default Friendly URL Scheme for vBulletin, CMS articles comments should use their own storage container instead of relying on threads. :p

And please don't forget what the thread was about originally...

Next time....

Ozzy this is a great idea, but is there a way to have a separate image for mods and for admins (one for mods, another one for admins)?

I wondering the same thing.

In the mean time I'm over sizing the image with a transparent background. Don't forget to remove the 'repeat' code.

Should be able to center the image with CSS. I'll play around more with it tonight.

DemOnstar 10-04-2013 02:11 PM

I have been trying to get the image to reside in the bottom right hand corner. It is out of the way there and doesn't make text difficult to read. It is also very visible..

For the moment I have put an image into my signature..Ha ha, it does the job as I have proved several times that my coding ability is just plain ***te!

ozzy47 10-04-2013 03:41 PM

I am working on a version that will allow you to have it in the bottom right hand corner above the signature.

I have no doubts about that at all...
You are actively working on many things to benefit many people...
All round, a fine job........!

Congrats on your new role BTW.

ozzy47 10-04-2013 03:50 PM

Thank you. :)

ozzy47 10-10-2013 11:07 AM

There is no real update, I just removed the code from the first post, and put it into a txt file.

Harpo 11-16-2013 11:39 PM

Installed but the image is being repeated all over the message area. I'm trying to keep the image fixed to the top of the message area only.

Any ideas?

ozzy47 11-16-2013 11:49 PM

Try editing the code you added to the additional.css and remove this, repeat;

Hmm nope that didn't seem to do anything. Its still the same, repeats all over the message area.

ozzy47 11-17-2013 12:53 AM

OK, try changing it to no-repeat;
