[OzzModz] Post Body Background For Specific Users
Another mod brought to you by,
https://vborg.vbsupport.ru/external/2015/01/1.png Here is a small modification you can do to have a different background in posts, set to specific users, in postbit legacy. To get this to work, follow the instructions in the attached, Post Body Background For Specific Users.txt file. I don't have any screenshots at the moment, I'll try to get some. Or if some of you use this mod, please share a screenshot of what you have done. |
Reserved.
|
Thank you.
Here is the screen shot from my default style. https://vborg.vbsupport.ru/external/2013/08/17.png |
Thanks for marking as installed, and showing a screenshot. :)
|
Glad i could be of help, you are welcome :)
|
Anyone else have screenshots, or any issues with the mod?
|
You must correct this:
Code:
background: url(images/chain_gradient.jpg); repeat; Code:
background: url(images/chain_gradient.jpg) repeat; |
I believe it will work either way. Is there a particular reason to change it?
|
Wow, this looks very terrible.....
|
How so Kraxell???
|
You cant read the message anymore with this picture. Maybe its ok with other pictures but....
|
That's true, that screenshot is just a example of how the post might look. I choose that image to show how it looks in a post. Of course each user would have to choose their own images based off their style and font in the post.

Thanks, if you do use it, please don't forget to mark it as installed. :)

Thanks, as long as some members use the mods, and enjoy them, it makes it worth while to code them.
|
Shall look at it tonight on localhost to see if it is a necessity..
I certainly (as always) will mark as installed. vB is just bare bones without pioneers like yourselves...It is people like yourselves, volunteers and enthusiasts that should be sorting out all of the problems vB currently has.. vB.org and vB.com seem to be affiliated but it doesn't appear that you are working together. You chaps and vB as a company could resurrect the brand in days... |
It does the job but if I wanted the image to be centered, both horizontally and vertically, how would I do that?
Thanks. |

Will you please supply the code for padding on the left side? I want to use a spiral notebook's bindings that will show on left side only.
|
I'll check it out as soon as I can, trying to relocate servers, and don't have access to my dev sites atm.

I guess by adding options for padding from all sides will do the trick for everyone. Thanks.. |
I will see what I can come up with, I have a few ideas, just need to test them and work out any flaws. Watch this thread for more info.
|
I will be watching....
One more thing to make it a little more of a challenge. How about adding a feature whereas a different background image could be added to each different user group ID? As well as retaining the ability to add a unique image to an individual... |
Now you are asking for WAY to much. :p
Just kidding, I will see what I can do when I get time to play around with this again. :) |

Add IPv6 support, feature request watermarking for images, PUSH notifications to phone, so that users are alerted of notifications when not actively using the app. Also, Chat room addon, automatic clean up of deprecated/obsolete files, CMS SEO rewrite. My turn for kidding :) Cheers ozzy47.... P.S. Custom Content Creation, Google Checkout (Now Google Wallet), Internal Like system, Default Friendly URL Scheme for vBulletin, CMS articles comments should use their own storage container instead of relying on threads. :p And please don't forget what the thread was about originally... Next time.... |
Ozzy this is a great idea, but is there a way to have a separate image for mods and for admins (one for mods, another one for admins)?

In the mean time I'm over sizing the image with a transparent background. Don't forget to remove the 'repeat' code. Should be able to center the image with CSS. I'll play around more with it tonight. |
I have been trying to get the image to reside in the bottom right hand corner. It is out of the way there and doesn't make text difficult to read. It is also very visible..
For the moment I have put an image into my signature..Ha ha, it does the job as I have proved several times that my coding ability is just plain ***te! |
I am working on a version that will allow you to have it in the bottom right hand corner above the signature.

You are actively working on many things to benefit many people... All round, a fine job........! Congrats on your new role BTW. |
Thank you. :)
|
There is no real update, I just removed the code from the first post, and put it into a txt file.
|
Installed but the image is being repeated all over the message area. I'm trying to keep the image fixed to the top of the message area only.
Any ideas? |
Try editing the code you added to the additional.css and remove this, repeat;

|
OK, try changing it to no-repeat;
