Reputation Board by BOP5 - A central location for all reputation.

Brought to you by BirdOPrey5 / Qapla.com

Reputation Board adds a new page to your forum, a central location from which users can browse all reputation almost like it's its own forum. Reputation can be sorted by date, by user it was left by, user it was left for, or the amount of reputation points involved. In addition you can filter to show only reputation left for or by specific users. Finally you can also filter out all "Liked Post" or similar comments left by "Like button" mods should you have any installed.

Full list of Reputation Board (Free) Features:
  • Option to enforce forum permissions (If enabled users won't see rep left for posts in forums they can't access.)
  • Option to hide reputation left for soft delete posts or threads.
  • Set number of reputations to display per page.
  • Set your own time/date format.
  • Hide "Liked" Posts- Enter any phrase(s) you want to be stripped from results when user chooses to "Hide Likes"
  • Choose from 6 different options when parsing reputation comments from none to full BBcode and image support.
  • Usergroup permissions on who can view the Reputation Board.
  • Option to automatically show link in Communtiy menu (vb 3.x, 4.x below 4.2.0)
  • Automatically places link in community menu in Navigation Manager (vb 4.2.0+)
  • Ability to filter by user who left the rep or user who the rep was left for.
  • Sort by user left for, user left by, rep value, post number, or date/time.
  • Mouse over any username to see their current rep points total.
  • Phrased for easy translation
  • Customize style using css template bop5repboard.css (in VB4)

See The Live Demo: Reputation Board - Qapla.com Forum by BOP5

Rep Board Pro is also available and adds useful editing and deletion features in addition to all those listed above.
  • Give permissions to usergroups who can delete any rep comment.
  • Show quick edit link for Admins who have permission to edit rep in Admin CP.
  • Give option for users who left rep to delete rep they've left.
  • Give option for users who received rep to delete rep they've received.
  • Option to block users with the delete rep permission from deleting rep left by certain usergroups.
  • Option to deduct rep points (or add back in case of negative rep) when a rep comment is deleted.

Mod works equally well on both VB 3.8.x and 4.x.x. May work on VB 3.7.x and earlier, not tested.

Another amazing mod from you! Works perfect in 4.2.1 thanks man!

tbworld 07-07-2013 11:22 PM

My daughter loves this mod for her board. Thanks for taking the time to code it up and release it. You saved this father a lot of time :)

addamroy 07-07-2013 11:34 PM

Installed on my test site, works good on 4.2.1

One thing I don't like is that under the 'post' column, it just shows the post-id which is clickable. I think it would look better if this displayed the thread title instead, just doesn't look good at all having a long list of post-id's and usernames.

This is a good idea and likely something you will see in a future version. Initially it wasn't coded that way because I was hoping not to have to join the thread table in the database query so the titles were not available.

Later in development I had to join the thread table for forum and deleted thread permissions so I don't see any reason not to add the thread title.

great idea and again a excellent mod!

How changed this background? I have a custom style and it's difficult for read, perhaps for a next version use a a variable style?
thx
edit: (sorry but I can't rated this topic, a idea?)

ozzy47 07-08-2013 09:22 AM

You must have the mod marked as installed before you can rate it.

Yes, I should add this to the documentation. There is a template bop5repboard.css for custom styling.

Glad you got it.

Do you have an ETA??? :)

BirdOPrey5 07-09-2013 12:57 AM

When i get some time. I'd imagine by next week, hopefully sooner. Can't promise though.

Alan_SP 07-14-2013 09:19 AM

As an idea, users should be able to mark their comments (received and given) as private, so others couldn't see them.

BirdOPrey5 07-14-2013 01:52 PM

Users being able to delete rep comments (with or without it affecting the overall rep count) is a feature in the Pro version. I do not anticipate adding a hide feature, sorry.

addamroy 07-15-2013 01:53 PM

Once this thing looks a little prettier with the post-IDs removed, I'm going to throw it on my board. Looking forward to it for sure it's a cool mod.

BirdOPrey5 07-16-2013 08:28 PM

Updated to Version 1.1.0

Post column now displays thread titles instead of post numbers, however if you mouse-over the thread title you still see the post number. It also displays the full title on mouse-over in case the title was cut off for being too long.

Also made some fixes to prevent the reputation comment column from getting too wide if someone enters 1 long reputation comment without word spacing.

Morrus 07-17-2013 05:11 PM

What a cool way to highlight recent popular or useful posts. Thanks!

datoneer 07-17-2013 06:11 PM

Thanks for the update

addamroy 07-17-2013 06:29 PM

Great update.

Brilliant Idea alert. Why not use some of that code in a mod to show these reputation entries in a forum sideblock?

BirdOPrey5 07-17-2013 07:17 PM

Not sure any of the code would readily transfer to a sideblock but will look into it. I really hate sideblocks and widgets in general though. They're just not fun to code.

BirdOPrey5 07-30-2013 08:06 PM

Updated to 1.1.1 - Added option to automatically turn URLs into links. (Enabled by default)

BirdOPrey5 08-01-2013 04:43 PM

Updated to 1.1.1a (download package only) to fix a typo in a query causing a database error for some users. Sorry.

mitch84 08-01-2013 05:25 PM

Thanks. Will patch.

I the mean time set Enforce Forum Permissions? or Hide rep from soft deleted (or moderated) posts? to NO temporarily to get rid of the error.

BirdOPrey5 08-02-2013 11:01 AM

Updated to 1.1.1b. Fixes DB error on some settings.

If you have any version of 1.1.1 already installed you only need to upload the new .php file, you do not need to import the xml file to upgrade.

If you are using 1.1.0 or below please follow full upgrade instructions.

Get values from here- http://www.php.net/manual/fr/function.date.php

The letters represent various parts of the date and time.

Did you turn on the option to respect forum permissions?

Can anyone help...

BirdOPrey5 08-23-2013 08:50 AM

Interesting... what version of PHP are you using?

The quick fix is to edit the reputation_board.php file, and on each line listed change the

=&

to just

=

Then re-save, and re-upload the file.

I will do some testing and likely remove them in future version.

PHP 5.3.

BirdOPrey5 08-23-2013 10:13 PM

Weird, i use PHP 5.3 (with warnings turned on) and don't get that. Oh well... I will try and get the update out this weekend- thanks for the report, sorry for the inconvenience.

Max Taxable 08-23-2013 10:23 PM

This is another really cool Mod by BoP5. Not one useful for me but definitely cool.

THANKS, appreciate it

BirdOPrey5 08-24-2013 11:48 AM

Updated to version 1.1.2 - Fixes compatibility with PHP 5.3. No reason to upgrade if you weren't having an error/warning.

Bubble #5 08-24-2013 06:44 PM

Confirmed! Errors are now fixed

Joe there is a typo in ACP > Options;

"Choose what type of parsing should be done to the reputation comments. Note- Allowing images could ruin the layout of pages if large images wee included in the comments."

Also, is there anyway to display dislikes? All we see are positive ratings.

BirdOPrey5 08-24-2013 06:53 PM

Thanks, will put typo fix in next release.

There is nothing in the code that should be hiding negative rep. Is it specifically "dislikes" that you aren't seeing or all negative rep?

Is the "Hide Liked, Thanked, Etc..." box empty in settings?

I think it's all, because all we see is 0 and +10 ratings.

Tried it both ways. Right now it's empty. How should it be?

BirdOPrey5 08-26-2013 07:31 PM

If you don't have a "Like" or "Thanks" mod it should be blank.
If you do have a Like or Thanks mod it should say exactly what the reputation comment the mod leaves is.

Please post or PM me a link to your forum, I'll register if I need to- if you need to make me an account then please PM me the info so I can see what is going on.

But that's just the opposite of what the section says to do. Here is what it says:

"If your forum has a Thanks, Like, Dislike, or similar system and you with to give the option to hide those rep comments from the list, enter the text for each here. "

I don't want to hide them, I want them to show up, so that box should be empty, right?
